The following four persons will be appearing in bail court this morning: 1) A 73 year-old male was arrested on the 19th of September just after 10 pm at an east end residence and charged with one count of assault.

1) A 73 year-old male was arrested on the 19th of September just after 10 pm at an east end residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused grabbed his wife by the arm and threw her onto a couch. The victim received injuries that did not require medical attention.

2) 26 year-old Shaun Mearow of 2643 Mission Road in Goulais River, Ontario was arrested on an outstanding warrant on the 19th of September at 4:15 pm at the court house on Queen Street East. He has been charged with one count of breach of a release document. It is alleged that on the 29th of November the accused failed to report to the Sault Ste Marie Police Service as a condition of his undertaking court release document.

3) 37 year-old Bonnie Fantham of 131 Walnut Street was arrested on the 19th of September at her residence on several outstanding warrants. She has been charged with three counts of failing to attend court and one count of fail to attend for fingerprints. It is alleged that the accused failed to attend court on three occasion, the 30th of April and the 5th and 12th of February. She also failed to attend to have fingerprints taken on the 3rd of April.

4) A 13 year-old male youth was also arrested on outstanding warrants on Huron Street on the 19th of September at 9:30 pm. He has been charged with three counts of breach of a release document and two counts of fail to appear for court. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear for court on the 24th of July and the 21st of August and on the 18th of September he breached his release document conditions by not being at his place of residence and breaching his curfew hours.

Impaired Driving Leeds to Possession Charges

On the 19th of September at approximately 9:38 am city police attended at the Mac’s Convenience Store on Gore Street after receiving a complaint of a possible impaired driver that was in the parking lot on a Harley Davidson motorcycle. When officers attended in the parking lot they observed a male attempting to get onto the motorcycle. The male was very unsteady on his feet and had difficulties standing up on his own. The male got onto the bike and when officers were speaking with him his speech was slurred. It is alleged that he was found to be under the influence of drugs. There was also another male with the accused that turned out to be a passenger that was riding in the side car of the motorcycle. When officer were checking the males it alleged that they were found to be in possession of 35 grams of hash oil, approximately 212 ritalin pills, 4 Dilaudid pills and 29 Benzodiazapines pills. Both males were arrested.

1) The 52 year-old operator of the motorcycle, Gianfranco Fronzi of 4 Labelle Street has been charged with one count of impaired driving and four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.

2) 42 year-old Garnet Hanifan of #119-40 Hynes Street has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.
They are both to appear in court on the 29th of October.

More Possession Charges

On the 19th of September at approximately 1:35 pm city police checked a van at the Wellington Street West Mac’s Convenience Store parking lot after they had observed it speeding in that area. It is alleged that when officers checked the vehicle and the two persons inside they located 105 Oxycontin tablets and 8 chlorazapam tablets. Both males were arrested.

1) The driver, 28 year-old Timothy Mongrain of 30 Bay Street is charged with one count of possession for purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.

2) The passenger, 38 year-old Troy Aikens of 109 Wellington Street West is also charged with one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.

They are both to appear in court on the 29th of October.

Two Charged with Assault

1) A 37 year-old female was arrested on the 19th of September just before 10 pm at her west end residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on this date she assaulted her husband punching him in the head and slapping him in the face. She is to appear in court on the 24th of October.

2) A 16 year-old male youth was arrested at his residence on the 19th of September at 11:35 am and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 19th of September at approximately 8:20 pm the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s west end residence and assaulted her by punching her twice in the face. The victim received injuries that did not require medical attention.

Fail to Appear

19 year-old Jacob Gilbert of #53-1001 Second Line West was arrested on outstanding warrants on Brookfield Avenue on the 20th of September at 3:15 am and charged with one count of fail to appear court from the 11th of June and one count of fail to appear for prints from the 29th of May. He is to appear in court on the 29th of October.

Break & Enter

The only break and enter reported yesterday was to a garage on Dacey Road. This occurred overnight on the 18-19th of September. A bike was reported stolen.
