Three males are to appear in bail court this morning
1) A 20 year-old male was arrested at his residence at 1:58 pm and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that yesterday afternoon just after 1 pm the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend by pulling her hair and pushing her, causing her to fall down a set of stairs. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result. The incident occurred at the residence of the accused.
2) A 40 year-old male was arrested at a downtown residence around 7:50 pm and charged with one count of assault, one count of unlawfully in a dwelling house and one count of mischief under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 15th of September the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend, smashed a screen door window and assaulted her by pushing her and grabbing at her. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.
3) A 28 year-old male was arrested at 3:23 am this morning after turning himself in at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Building. He was charged with one count of assault and one count of criminal harassment. It is alleged that on the 14th of September the accused called his ex-girlfriend 93 times, attended at her workplace and assaulted her in the parking lot by slapping her in the face numerous times. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.

Male Youth Arrested for Sexual Related Offences
The Sault Ste Marie Police Service Investigations Unit arrested a15 year-old male youth yesterday afternoon at the Police Services Building. He was charged with one count of sexual assault, one count of sexual interference and one count of invitation to sexual touching. The alleged incidents took place between December 2009 and August 2010 and involved a female child under the age of 16 years that the accused had babysat on a number of occasions. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of October.

Female Shoplifter Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested 18 year-old Emily Murphy of 160 Amber Street last evening at the Police Service building and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged the accused was wanted in relation to her involvement in a shoplifting incident that took place on the 12th of September at Food Basics on Trunk Road when she left the store without paying for a grocery cart full of items. She is to appear in court on the 18th of October.

School Bus and Bicycle Collision
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a collision with a school bus and a bicyclist yesterday at 3:32 pm at Second Line West and Whitney Avenue. It is alleged that a 52 year-old male cyclist that was travelling eastbound on the shoulder of Second Line West was struck by the bus that pulled out of Whitney Avenue. The cyclist was transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of minor injuries. The driver of the school bus, Patricia Pielow of 22 Elliott Road, was charged with one count of fail to yield to traffic on through highway under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
