Male Charged with Shoplifting and Assault Offences 31 year-old Richard Speers of 67 Palace Drive was arrested on the 10th of September at 3 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of theft under $5,000.

31 year-old Richard Speers of 67 Palace Drive was arrested on the 10th of September at 3 pm at his residence and charged with one count of assault and one count of theft under $5,000.00 in relation to shoplifting incident that took place on the 2nd of August around 1 pm when it is alleged that the accused attended at Zellers in the Station Mall and stole a pair of sunglasses. When he was confronted by the store security officer, the accused pushed the officer, threw the sunglasses to the ground and fled. He is to appear in court on the 20th of October.

Female Youth Charged with Assault

A 15 year-old female youth was arrested on the 10th of September at 7:25 pm at her residence and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 10th of September at 6:15 pm the accused assaulted a 14 year-old male known to her when she confronted him while he was walking on Trunk Road. The victim received minor injuries that did not require any medical attention. The accused is to appear in court on the 14th of October.

Property Crimes: Theft Reports

• Vehicles were entered in the Market Mall parking lot on Second Line West, on Drake Street, and on Thorneloe Crescent. Wallets, a gym bag and identification were reported stolen.
• A wallet was stolen at Alexander Henry High School on Northern Avenue on the 10th of September.
• A resident on Bellevue Avenue reported his wallet stolen-not known where it was taken.

One break and enter report was taken to the outside compound of the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada at the end of Pine Street near Bellevue Marina sometime overnight on the 9-10th of September. The chain link fence was cut and four Tahoe truck tires were stolen.

One mischief complaint was reported - some hoses and signs at the Terry Fox Place complex were damaged.
