Male Arrested at Local Bar for Breaching Court Orders: 28 year-old Bradley Hallaert of #4-54 Albert Street West was arrested on the 7th of October at 10:10 pm on Queen Street West and charged with three counts of breach of a release document.
Male Arrested at Local Bar for Breaching Court Orders:

28 year-old Bradley Hallaert of #4-54 Albert Street West was arrested on the 7th of October at 10:10 pm on Queen Street West and charged with three counts of breach of a release document. It is alleged that around 10:10 pm last evening, the accused was drinking at a downtown bar last evening with a male that he is on recognizance conditions not to associate with. He further breached his conditions by consuming alcohol, entering an establishment where alcohol is sold and not abiding by his curfew order to be in his residence by 7 pm.

Domestic Related Arrest:

A 27 year-old female was arrested on the 7th of October at 9:25 am on Queen Street East on several outstanding warrants in relation to domestic related incidents involving her ex-boyfriend. She is charged with one count of criminal harassment, one count of mischief, three counts of breach of probation, one count of breach of a peace bond and one count of unlawfully in a dwelling house. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

Female Arrested for Shoplifting at Two Downtown Businesses:

60 year-old Joy Katzko of 926 Jupiter Road on Parksville B.C was arrested on the 7th of October at 2:37 pm on Great Northern Road and charged with one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that on the 7th of October at 2:15 pm the accused attended at the 49th Apparel and First Impression Stores on Queen Street East and stole clothing. The accused fled from the area in her van. Officers located the accused driving northbound on Great Northern Roads, stopped her and found the stolen items in her possession. She is to appear in bail court this morning.

Female Youth Arrested for Mischief at Local Youth Home:

A 14 year-old female youth was arrested at a local Youth Home and charged with one count of mischief. It is alleged that between the 6th and 7th of October the accused caused damage to the home by spray painting graffiti on an outside door area and a bedroom window. She is to appear in court on the 3rd of November.

Two Drug Warrant Arrests:

On the 7th of October at 1:50 pm members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Street Team, Patrol Services and Canine Unit executed a search warrant at 834 Bonney Street, the residence of 21 year-old Melissa Favaro and 20 year-old Kain Bourck. During the course of the search, officers located 44 marihuana plants, associated growing equipment including fans, lights, growing blocks and a calendar. Officers also located 602.5 grams of marihuana, including marihuana packaged for sale at the street level in varying amounts, packing materials, a debt list, two digital scales, 26.9 grams of marihuana and drug paraphernalia for personal use. Estimated street value of the drugs seized was $56,000.00. As a result they were both charged with one count of production of a controlled drug or substance, two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. They are scheduled to appear in court on the 9th of November.

Male in Possession of Firearms Arrested at Canada Customs:

67 year-old William Scratch of 1409 County Road in Wheatley Ontario was arrested at Canada Customs on Huron Street on the 7th of October at 10:55 am and charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a firearm. It is alleged that around 8:34 am yesterday morning the accused attempted to enter into Canada at the International Bride with two rifles in his possession that he did not have authorization to possess. He is to appear in court on the 30th of November.

Property Crimes:

Break and Enter Report:


• A residence on Old Goulais Bay Road was entered sometime overnight on the 6th-7th of October. Hand tools, including a Dewalt mitre saw and nail gun.

Theft Reports:

• A John Deer RX75 riding lawn tractor was stolen from a residence property on Prentice Avenue sometime overnight on the 6th-7th of October.
• A Blackberry Pearl was reported stolen from an office at the Sault Area Hospital Walk In Clinic
• CD’S and medical papers were stolen out of a bike zipper bag on Queen Street East.
• A vehicle in the 500 block of Lake Street was entered overnight on the 6th of October. A wallet was reported stolen.
• Two males were observed stealing rocks from the water front area at Bellevue Park around 4:40 am this morning. The males fled in a light coloured minivan. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate it.
