Aggravated Assault Charges Laid A 46-year old male and a 35-year old female will both appear in bail court this morning. They have each been charged with one count of aggravated assault.
Aggravated Assault Charges Laid

A 46-year old male and a 35-year old female will both appear in bail court this morning. They have each been charged with one count of aggravated assault. It is alleged that both persons assaulted their infant child between August 11th and October 26th. Officers from Investigation Services were notified and are continuing to work on this investigation. The infant remains in hospital care in serious condition. The names of the accused persons are not being released to protect the identity of the victim.

Threatening to Cause Death

33-year old Tammy-Lynn Evans-Moreau of 563 Second Line West was arrested last evening afternoon and charged with one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm. It is alleged that on the 7th of October the accused threatened a 13-year old youth. The accused will appear in court on November 28th.

Female Charged with Theft

Yesterday afternoon it is alleged that 26-year old Terry-Lynn Syrette of 266 John Street attended at The Beer Store on Bruce Street and stole a donation can from the counter. She left the store and Police were contacted. The accused was located in the downtown area. She has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and will appear in court on November 28th.

Youth Charged with Theft Under 5,000

A 14-year old youth was arrested yesterday morning and charged with one count of theft under $5,000. It is alleged that the youth was observed going through a vehicle in a parking lot of the Pee Wee. A citizen called the incident in to police and provided a description. The accused was located a short distance away and was subsequently charged with theft for stealing change from the vehicle. The accused will appear in court on November 29th.

Break and Enters

Yesterday between 6 pm and 8:45 pm thieves broke into a home in the 100 block of Cunningham Road but may have been scared off by the homeowner returning to the residence. It appears that nothing was taken in the incident.


Yesterday morning a homeowner in the 100 block of Borden Avenue called to report that their vehicle had been vandalized overnight. The culprits in this matter spray painted the car with black spray paint and flattened the tires on the driver’s side.

2 Youths Attacked

Last evening around 7 pm 2 youths were walking along McNabb Street near the YMCA when the youths were attacked by 6 teens who stole an MP3 player from one of the victims. One of the suspects had a grey sweater on and had a hood on his head as well as glasses; the other youths had t-shirts on. No further details are available at this time. Motor Vehicle Collision

Just after 9:30 am yesterday morning City Police attended at Bay Street and Brock Street for a motor vehicle collision. The incident involved a car and a van. A car operated by Deborah Maiangowi of Wikwemikong, ON was traveling eastbound on Bay Street. A van operated by Jane Evans of Sault Ste. Marie was traveling southbound on Brock Street. The 2 vehicles collided and both received severe damage. Both drivers and a passenger the Maiangowi received injuries, however no one required medical treatment at the time of the incident.
