One Person For Bail Court: 29 year old James Douglas Clyburn of 229 Great Northern Road is awaiting bail court subsequent to an incident that occurred outside of a West End establishment on the 1st of October 2009.
One Person For Bail Court:

29 year old James Douglas Clyburn of 229 Great Northern Road is awaiting bail court subsequent to an incident that occurred outside of a West End establishment on the 1st of October 2009. It is alleged that on that date the accused had gotten into a verbal altercation with another patron outside the bar. A 26 year old male attempted to diffuse the situation but was punched in the face by the accused. A 46 year old male then attempted to stop the argument but he too was struck in the face by Mr. Clyburn. This victim fell to the ground and suffered secondary non life threatening injuries to his back that required medical attention. He was transported to Sudbury for surgery. The accused was bound by a Probation Order at the time that required him to keep the peace and be of good behavior. The accused was arrested on the 14th of October 2009 at the Police Services Building on Second Line East and was subsequently charged with one count of assault, one count of assault causing bodily harm and breach of probation.

Shoplifter:

26 year old Taavi Stier of 224 St. Georges Avenue East was arrested on the 14th of October 2009 at 3:40 p.m. at the A&P on Churchill Blvd. and charged with Theft Under Five Thousand Dollars. It is alleged that the accused had entered the store and there in selected a variety of dairy products consisting of cheese and butter and concealed them on his person. The accused then exited the store making no attempt to pay for the items. He was arrested by store security and held for police. He is to appear in court on the 16th of November 2009.

Traffic Accident:

On the 14th of October 2009 at 12:40 p.m. police attended at the intersection of Pine Street at Queen Street East subsequent to a motor vehicle collision that had occurred moments earlier. The investigation revealed that a car that was being operated by a 69 year old female East on Queen Street had been stopped at the intersection at Pine Street. The driver attempted to turn left onto Pine Street but effected this action across the path of an oncoming pickup truck that was being operated by a 31 year old male. The vehicles collided and the driver of the pickup truck was taken to the hospital by ambulance for non life threatening injuries. Margaret Walker of 43 Cambridge Place (the 69 year old driver of the car) was subsequently charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario for “Failing to Afford Reasonable Opportunity to Avoid a Collision on Left Turn”.
