CAR-PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT Police were called to a pedestrian/car accident yesterday at 4:10 p.m. near the 300 block of John Street. Police say Cathy Elkas, age 11, of Bush Street stepped out into traffic from between stopped vehicles.

CAR-PEDESTRIAN ACCIDENT
Police were called to a pedestrian/car accident yesterday at 4:10 p.m. near the 300 block of John Street. Police say Cathy Elkas, age 11, of Bush Street stepped out into traffic from between stopped vehicles. She was struck by a northbound 1987 Oldsmobile operated by Lorinda Nolan, age 32, of Peoples Road. Elkas was taken to hospital for treatment of what are described as minor injuries. Nolan was issued a summons for driving while suspended. There was minimal damage to the car.
