Intoxicated at Customs 24 year-old Eric Dacosta of 589 Wellington Street West was arrested on the 8th of May at 1:54 am at Canada Customs and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit.

24 year-old Eric Dacosta of 589 Wellington Street West was arrested on the 8th of May at 1:54 am at Canada Customs and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. It is alleged that on the 8th of May at approximately 1:44 am the accused was driving his Chev pickup and was stopped and checked by Canada Customs when entering into Canada. At the time he was checked the accused appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and when given a roadside breathalyzer test he registered a fail. He is to appear in court on the 9th of June.

Fail to Provide Breath Sample

32 year-old Brenda Jacker of 138 Sutton Place was arrested on the 8th of May at 1:55 am on Wellington Street East and charged with one count of fail to provide breath sample. It is alleged that on the 8th of May at approximately 1:48 am city police stopped and checked a vehicle on Wellington Street East near Kohler Street. When officers were checking the driver, the accused, they discovered that she was under the influence of alcohol. The accused refused to provide a breath sample. She is to appear in court on the 9th of June.

Male Charged with Assault

On the 7th of May at approximately 4 pm in a downtown business parking lot, a verbal argument between two males over a parking spot resulted in one of the males being charged with assault. It is alleged that 46 year-old Daniel Bridge of 35 Chippewa Street, kicked the 21 year-old male victim in the leg during the incident.
He was charged with one count of assault and is to appear in court on the 9th of June.

Car Accident on Carmen's Way

On the 7th of May at 10:01 am, City police responded to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of Carmen’s Way and Albert Street West that resulted in one of the involved drivers being transported to hospital by ambulance for the treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It is alleged that a Pontiac that was being operated by a 43 year-old female was eastbound on Albert Street East and when entering the intersection of Carmen’s Way she failed to yield and struck a vehicle that was southbound on Carmen’s Way
The 43 year-old female driver was the only person that was injured in the collision. Charges are pending.

Car Accident on Great Northern Road

On the 7th of May at 12:09 pm, City police responded to a motor vehicle collision that involved three vehicles and resulted in one 84 year-old male driver being transported to hospital by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. It is alleged that a U-Haul vehicle that was northbound on Great Northern Road, failed to stop at the red light intersection at the entrance way of Home Depot and struck a Mazda Minivan that had just exited from Home Depot. The Mazda then struck a Ford pickup that was stopped in the southbound lane at the intersection. The 84 year-old male driver of the Mazda Minivan was the only person injured in the collision.
The driver of the U-Haul van, 67 year-old John Doyle, of 12 Steoger Street, Kearny Ontario was charged with one count of failing to stop for red light under the Highway Traffic Act.
