Domestic Related Arrest for Bail Court Appearance
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 19 year-old male at 11:39 pm last night at a downtown residence and charged him with one count of aggravated assault and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 4th of May just after 11 pm the accused was at a gathering at a downtown residence and got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend. A male at the party attempted to intervene and was stabbed in the arm area by the accused. The victim received non-life threatening injuries that required medical attention. At the time of the incident the accused was on a probation order with conditions that he keep the peace and be good.

Female Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 22 year-old Tuesday Dube of 36 Fauquier Avenue on the 4th of May at 5:40 pm at the police station on outstanding warrants and charged her with one count of fail to appear for prints and one count of fail to appear court in relation to a 5th of April shoplifting related charge. She is now to appear in court on the 6th of June.

Male Wanted for Theft from Vehicle and Fraud Arrested
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 38 year-old Lawrence Gatza of #509-277 Northern Avenue East at 4 pm yesterday and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of fraud. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a theft from vehicle incident that occurred on the 15th of July when the accused allegedly entered a truck on the property of a Fournier Road Residence and stole a wallet that contained identification, cash and credit cards. Over the course of that evening, the accused attended at the Husky East on two occasions and purchased $837.00 worth of cigarettes and scratch tickets. The accused was captured making the purchases on the store’s security video surveillance. The accused is to appear in court on the 20th of June.

Three Females Arrested for Shoplifting Incident
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested three females at Zellers on Northern Avenue at 4:05 pm yesterday when they allegedly attended at the store at approximately 3:33 pm on that date and stole some hair dye. They were apprehended bys tore security and held for police. As a result all three were charged with theft under $5,000. Two adults, 18 year-old Leeann McKay of 2689 Mission Road, Goulais River and 18 year-old Cynthia Cadreau of 1724 Mission Road, Goulais River are to appear in court on the 6th of June. The third female, age 17, is to appear in Youth court on the 7th of June.

Two Suspicious Fires under Investigation
The Sault Ste. Marie Police Service received a call at 1:38 am this morning to assist Sault Fire Services with a fire to the entrance of the apartment building at 151 Gore Street. The fire appears to have been set at the front doorway entrance and did not spread to the rest of the building. The apartments were vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

At approximately 3:30 am there was a fire set in a dumpster behind the Pawnbrokers at the corner of Gore Street and Albert Street East.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police and Fire Services are currently investigated both fires.

Break and Enter Report
• The previous St Veronica’s School on Balfour Street was entered. Some lights inside were damaged. Nothing was reported stolen.
• A residence on Patrick Street was entered on Tuesday evening. Some damage was reported, but nothing was reported stolen.

Theft/Mischief Reports
• A vehicle window was smashed on Euclid Road and a Laptop that had been left inside was reported stolen.
• A vehicle on St. Georges West was rummaged through and some change was stolen.
• A windshield of a vehicle in the 300 block of Wellington Street West was smashed and the front hood dented.
• An orange Supercycle was stolen from a business parking lot on Great Northern Road.
