Officers from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Investigation Services Section have completed their investigation into this incident.

On the 3rd of May just before 11:30 am officers, with the assistance of Sault Fire Services and their boat, recovered the body of an adult from the water.

Foul play is not suspected in this incident and no further details will be released.

8 People To Appear In Bail Court This Morning

1) Yesterday morning officers from the Joint Forces Drug Unit, which consists of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, the OPP Drug Enforcement Section, the RCMP and the OPP North East Region, executed a search warrant at a home at 36 Princeton Drive. With the assistance of Police Service Dog Gunner and his handler officers located 47.7 grams of cocaine, 87.5 grams of marijuana, 43 doses of LSD and 1.5 grams of cannabis resin. The estimated street value of the narcotics is $7,310. Officers also seized a quantity of US currency, drug scales and other drug paraphernalia. 50-year old Joseph Pauze of 36 Princeton Drive has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.

Officers also seized a quantity of US currency, drug scales and other drug paraphernalia. 41-year old Maxine Pauze of 36 Princeton Drive has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance.

3) A 39-year old male was arrested just before 8 pm last night and charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of threatening to cause death or bodily harm and one count of forcible confinement. It is alleged that on the 30th of April the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend by punching her in the face and hitting her with a piece of wood. It is also alleged that the accused threatened to kill the victim. It is further alleged that the accused did not allow the victim to leave their downtown residence for a period of time on that date. The victim did not require medical treatment.

4) A 39-year old male was arrested last evening and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his wife by grabbing her by the throat. The victim then called police who attended at the couple’s east end residence.

5) A 25-year old male was arrested just after 10 pm last night and charged with one count of assault. It is alleged that the accused assaulted his common-law wife by slapping her and then pushing her. The incident occurred in the couple’s centrally located residence.

6) A 26-year old male was arrested just before 10:30 pm last night and charge with one count of assault, one count of mischief under $5,000 and two counts of breach of probation. It is alleged that the accused assaulted an adult male family member by pushing the victim. It is further alleged that the accused also punched two holes in the drywall of the east end address. At the time of the offence the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good. Police were called to the address and when officers arrived they were advised that the accused was hiding in a bush area near the residence. Police Service Dog Tazer attended with his handler and the accused was located and apprehended without incident.

7) A 15-year old youth was arrested just before midnight last night and charged with one count of assault with a weapon and one count of breach of a release order. It is alleged that the youth threw a water bottle and spit on another youth while in their west end residence. At the time of the incident the accused was on a release order with conditions.

8) Around 3:30 am this morning officers on patrol conducted a routine traffic stop. When officers queried one of the passengers in a vehicle, they learned that the 16-year old youth was on a release order with a condition of a curfew between 10 pm and 6 pm. The youth has been charged with one count of breach of a release order.

Additional Charge Laid In Princeton Drive Drug Bust

Yesterday morning when officers were executing the drug warrant at 36 Princeton Drive they charged another male with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance. It is alleged that the accused has approximately 1 gram of marijuana in one of his pockets, which has a street value of approximately $20. 39-year old Marty Attle of 1324 Pine Shores Road, Goulais River will appear in court on June 5th.

False Pretences

Yesterday afternoon City Police charged 48-year old Joy Komhyr of 17 Rushmere Drive with one count of false pretences. It is alleged that the accused defrauded the Northern Reflection Store located at 44 Great Northern Road by allegedly placing earned points from customers onto her own personal rewards card. She will appear in court on June 5th.

Break & Enters

A home in the 100 block of Ravina Street was broken into yesterday between 8 am and 3 pm and a quantity of jewellery, coins and video games were taken. A bicycle was also taken.

Just after 2:30 am this morning a break and enter occurred at The Brick Store located in the Market Mall. It is believed that electronics were taken, but there are few details at this time.
