Break and Enter A 16-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday morning in relation to a break and enter that occurred to a home on the 22nd of March in the 700 block of Young Street.

A 16-year old youth will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested yesterday morning in relation to a break and enter that occurred to a home on the 22nd of March in the 700 block of Young Street. Yesterday officers located an X-box and 4 videos that were from the break and enter in the youth’s possession. The youth was also wanted for failing to appear for fingerprints. The youth has been charged with one count of fail to appear for prints and one count of break and enter and commit an offence.

4 Persons Arrested In Break and Enter

Yesterday afternoon City Police attended in the 100 block of Chestnut Street for a break and enter in progress. Information had been received that the homeowner attended at their residence and scared off the suspects. Officers from Patrol Services and Investigation Services attended in the area. The Canine Unit also assisted these officers. The effort of this group of officers, with the assistance of Police Service Dog Tazer, resulted in the arrest of 4 persons and the recovery of some stolen property. Officers recovered a stolen X-box and controller in the area they were searching for the accused persons. The following persons were charged:

1) 18-year old Tyler Seaton of 364 Albert Street West has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence. He will appear in bail court this morning.

2) A 15-year old youth has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence and 3 counts of breach of probation. This youth will appear in bail court this morning.

3) A 16-year old youth has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence. This youth will appear in bail court this morning.

4) A 15-year old will has been charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of breach of probation and one count of impersonation after it is alleged the youth provided a false name to one of the officers assisting in the search. This youth will appear in court on April 26th.

Male Charged with Mischief under $5000

An 18-year old male will appear in court on April 25th after being arrested last evening in regards to an incident with is ex-girlfriend. City Police attended at a downtown residence after receiving a complaint from the victim. It is alleged that the accused set fire to the victim’s pillow. The victim did not sustain any injuries in the incident. The accused has been charged with one count of mischief under $5,000.

Reminder

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service would like everyone to have a safe and Happy Easter weekend. Now that the weather is getting nicer, motorists need to be more alert to children on the streets. Also, now that the roads are bare, motorists are reminded to obey the speed limit. Officers from the Service are regularly doing radar checks through out our City and Prince Township. Obey the speed limits, buckle up and arrive alive!!

Vehicle Collision

Yesterday morning, shortly after 10:30 am, officers from Traffic Services attended at the intersection of Brock Street and Bay Street for a motor vehicle collision with injuries. A car operated by Pamela St. Jean of 4-142 Allard Street was traveling eastbound on Bay Street and a van operated by Matthew Smith of 42 Chartwell Drive was traveling southbound on Brock Street. It is alleged the Pamela St. Jean disobeyed the red light and struck the van, and then a sign located at 615 Bay Street. Mrs. St. Jean was taken by ambulance to the Sault Area Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles sustained severe damage. Mrs. St. Jean has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with one count of red light-fail to stop.
