29-Yr Old Arrested For Death Threat

Last evening at approx. 11:00 PM City Police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and arrested an inmate. It is alleged that the accused, a 29-year-old male, contacted his ex-girlfriend via a pay phone and threatened to stab her when he was released from the centre. The accused is charged with Threatening Death and will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Man Arrested For Robbery

Yesterday afternoon City Police Investigative Officers observed a person that was wanted, by our Service for Robbery, walking on North St. At approx. 5:10 PM the officers arrested 22-year-old Robert Day and charged him with Robbery. It alleged that during the robbery the accused assaulted the victim and assisted in taking money from the victim. The victim was robbed by the accused along with another male and a young person. Robert Day, of 112 Railroad Ave, will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM on a Charge of Robbery. City Police arrested the young person yesterday and the investigation into the identity of the third suspect is continuing.

Domestic Dispute

A domestic argument resulted in the arrest of a 49-year-old male yesterday evening. City Police had been called to a north end residence on the evening of Friday March 24th where it is alleged that the accused threatened to kill his wife by shooting her. The accused left the premises at that time and was located yesterday at 8:40 PM. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM on a charge of Threatening Death.

Break & Enter

City Police are also investigating a Break and Enter to Design Solutions located at 473 Queen St. E. It is not known at this time what was stolen from the business.

More Vehicles Damaged

City Police report that four more cars were damaged yesterday. A vehicle parked in the 800 block of Young St. was spray-painted. A vehicle parked on the east side of the Cambrian Mall had a window smashed out as did vehicles parked in the 200 block of St. Georges Ave. and the 700 block of Pine St.

City Police also advise that two vehicles were entered and items stolen from the vehicles. The vehicles were parked in the 100 block of Parkdale Dr. and the 600 block of Queen St.E. The list of items stolen is not available at this time.

Arrest Made For Break And Enter

Yesterday at approx. 1:45 PM City Police Investigative Services Unit Officers arrested Jordan Petty and charged him with: Break and Enter with Intent, Public Mischief and Perjury. It is alleged that on Tuesday March 21st 2006 Mr. Petty attended at 19 Hussey St. with intent to break into the premises and steal unspecified items at that address. It is further alleged that the accused made a false statement to police regarding an incident, while under oath. Charged is Jordan Gary Petty, age 21, of 451 McNabb St. He is charged with: Break and Enter with Intent, Public Mischief and Perjury. He will be appearing in court on Monday April 24th at 9:00 AM.
