Male arrested for theft
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 44-year-old male for theft. It is alleged that on June 7th, 2011 the accused attended at the residence of a person known to him and stole that person’s debit card. It is further alleged that the accused then attended at The Beer Store and made a purchase using the stolen debit card. Ralph Hautanen, age 44 of 125 Cambridge Pl. Apt # 108 is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. Mr. Hautanen is to appear in court on July 25th at 9:00 am.

Female arrested for possession of controlled substance
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old female for possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that the accused person attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre, yesterday after being sentenced to a jail term, and upon being searched a small quantity of marihuana was found on her person, Tara Stiber, age 21, of 702 Wellington St. W. is charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance. Ms Stiber is to appear in court on July 25th at 9:00 am.

Youth charged with possession of a controlled drug
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service were called to a local high school regarding a student in possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that the accused person had a small “baggie” containing marihuana on his person. Police were called and a 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Mischief
A vehicle was damaged in the 100 block of Breton Rd.

Two vehicles were “keyed” – one in the 100 block of Rankin Rd and another in the 100 block of Forest Ave.

Theft
Vehicles were entered in the following locations;
The 200 block of Promenade Dr – electronics were stolen.
The 100 block of Dalgleish Rd. – electronic were stolen.
The 100 block of Pointe Louise Dr. – a small amount of cash was taken.
The 100 block of Pinto Dr – electronics were stolen.
The 100 block of Field Square – sporting equipment was taken.

The 100 block of MacDonald Ave – Cash was taken and a window was smashed.

A money clip and personal papers were stolen from a locker at the Y.M.C.A at 235 McNabb St.

“Elsie the Cow” was stolen from outside the Lock City Dairies on McNabb St.

A bicycle was stolen from a residence in the 100 block of terry Fox Pl.

A red four door 1993 Plymouth Acclaim was stolen from the 600 block of MacDonald Ave.
