Two Males Charged with Theft Officers from Investigation Services and Patrol Services arrested 2 Sudbury men yesterday afternoon after they received a complaint regarding the theft of copper wire.
Two Males Charged with Theft

Officers from Investigation Services and Patrol Services arrested 2 Sudbury men yesterday afternoon after they received a complaint regarding the theft of copper wire. It is alleged that the 2 men stole 600 feet of copper cable from Sault Electric located at 865 2nd Line East. The two males were in the process of cutting up the cable into smaller pieces when they were located in the bush area behind the business. The value of the copper is estimated at approximately $8100. Raymond Chabot, age 26, of 378 King Street, Sudbury has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000 and one of count of possession of property obtained by crime. 23-year old Michael Richards of 1292 Martindale Road, Sudbury has been charged with one count of theft over $5,000, one count of breach of probation and two counts of breach of release documents.

Male Charged with Possession of Stolen Credit Card

22-year old Raymond Gregoire of 217 Beverly Street was arrested around 4:30 am this morning in relation to theft of a wallet from a vehicle in the downtown are on June 15th. It is alleged that the accused used a credit card from the wallet and purchased a cell phone from the Zellers Store in the Station Mall. Mr. Gregoire has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of stolen credit card, one count fraud under $5,000 and one count of stolen credit card data.

Assault Charges Laid

A 33-year old male was arrested yesterday afternoon after it was alleged that he assaulted his common-law wife in their downtown residence. It is alleged that he male shoved the female, who struck her face on a sink. The female required medical treatment for injuries sustained to her face. The male has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.


Male Aressted on Outstanding Warrants

23-year old Eugene Dubois of 51 Atwater Street was arrested yesterday afternoon on outstanding warrants. It is alleged that the accused failed to report to the police station and sign in as required by a court order, as well as failing to notify his change of address. Mr. Dubois has been charged with one count of breach of probation, one count of theft under, and two counts of breach of a release order.

Breach of Release Document

Just after 11 pm last night City Police attended in the downtown area after a caller reported a suspicious male in the area. Officers located 30-year-old Keith Angecomb of 191 Maple Street, who was under the influence of alcohol. A police query revealed that the accused was on release conditions with terms not to consume alcohol and to be in his residence by 10 pm. The accused has been charged with 2 counts of breach of a release document.


Police Look for Impaired Driver

Last night just after 2:35 am City Police were advised that a possible impaired driver was headed southbound on North Street. Witnesses in the area advised that a silver pickup truck was swerving all over the road. Officers located and attempted to pull the vehicle over on Cathcart Street but the driver refused to pull over. Officers continued to pursue the vehicle through the Cathcart Street, James Street, Queen Street West and Albert Street West areas. Speeds did not exceed 60 km/h and traffic was light in the area at the time of the incident. Officers noted there were 2 people in the vehicle. The pursuit lasted approximately 8 minutes. Officers located the pickup truck abandoned in the area of the James Street Mall. It is believed the driver of the pickup truck is a native female, approximately 30 years age and was wearing dark clothing. It is believed that the female driver may have struck her head on the windshield and may be suffering from facial injuries.
