Two females arrested in relation to homicide investigation Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two females and charged them with being accessories after the fact to murder.
Two females arrested in relation to homicide investigation
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested two females and charged them with being accessories after the fact to murder. It is alleged that the two accused, Kayla Elie and Jaclyn MacIntyre assisted the three men accused in the murder of Wesley Hallam by removing evidence from the scene of the homicide and by cleaning up evidence of the homicide. It is further alleged that the accused Kayla Elie obstructed police by providing false information to police.

Kayla Elie, age 18, of 634 Connaught Ave Apt # 307 is charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder and one count of obstruct police.

Jaclyn MacIntyre, age 20, of 76 St. Andrews Terr. is charged with one count of accessory after the fact to murder.

Male arrested in domestic
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 36-year-old male for assault, mischief and possession of a controlled substance. It is alleged that the accused male attended at the residence of his ex-common-law partner and while there he assaulted the victim by pushing her against the wall. It is further alleged that the accused damaged property at her apartment. Further upon his arrest by police he was found to be in possession of marihuana.

The male is charged with one count of assault, one count of mischief under $5,000 and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

Female arrested for mischief
Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested an 18-year-old female for mischief. It is alleged that the accused female attended at the Travellers Motel, on Trunk Rd. and broke a window. Police were called and the accused was arrested. Keyleigh Downey, age 18, of no fixed address is charged with one count of mischief under $5,000. Ms Downey is to appear in court on July 4th at 9:00 am.

Two males arrested for impaired driving
Yesterday afternoon members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 56-year-old male for impaired driving and drive over 80 mgs. It is alleged that the accused male was operating his motor vehicle on Shafer Ave while his ability to do so was impaired by alcohol. Richard Gardener, age 56, of 710 Shafer Ave is charged with one count of impaired driving and one count of drive over 80 mgs. He is to appear in court on July 4th at 9:00 am.

Early this morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 21-year-old male for drive over 80 mgs. It is alleged that the accused male was operating his motor vehicle on Princess Cres. while under the influence of alcohol. The accused was stopped by police and he registered a fail on a roadside screening device. Ryan McLean, age 21, of 109 Alworth Pl is charged with one count of drive over 80 mgs and is to appear in court on July 4th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for theft
Yesterday evening members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33-year-old male for theft and breach of probation. It is alleged that on May 31st the accused male stole a skateboard from the Esso Service Centre on Trunk Rd. It is further alleged that at the time of this offence the accused was on probation. Terrance Mingo, age 33 is charged with one count of theft and one count of breach of probation. He is to appear in court on July 4th at 9:00 am.

Male arrested for mischief
Yesterday morning members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 37-year-old male for mischief. It is alleged that the accused male was involved in an argument with his ex-common-law partner and as a result he damaged a stereo belonging to her. The accused is charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and is to appear in court on July 4th at 9:00 am.

Break and Enter
Break and enters were reported to residences in the 300 block of Pim St. – jewellery was stolen, the 600 block of Queen St. W. – unknown what was taken and the 1000 block of Queen St. E.- electronics were taken.

Mischief
An apartment at a residence in the 600 block of Shafer Ave was damaged.

Theft
A computer was stolen from an apartment in the 100 block of Albert St. W.
