2 15-year old youths will appear in bail court this morning after being arrested just after 1:30 am this morning. Just after 12:30 am City Police attended at Parkland School on Amber Street regarding a break and enter that had just occurred. While officers were at the call another report of a break and enter came in at 12:44 am at Sister Mary Clare School on Glen Avenue that had also just occurred. Officers contained the immediate area surrounding the 2 schools. With the coordinated effort of the officers containing the area, the Canine Unit and police dog Tazer, were able to assist in tracking and apprehending the 2 youths on Queen Street East near the sewage plant. Both youths have each been charged with 2 counts of break and enter with intent and will appear in bail court this morning.

Couple Charged with Possession

Yesterday afternoon just after 12 pm City Police executed a search warrant at 100 James Street apartment 508. Officers located a leather jacket that had been stolen from break and enter to a home in the 400 block of Albert Street West back in May of this year. Officers also located 5.6 grams of cocaine, 9 ecstasy tablets, weigh scales and other evidence to indicate the drugs were for sale. 20-year old Krystyn McPhail of 100 James Street apt 508 and 23-year old Shaun Mearow of 2102 Mission Road, Goulais River have each been charged with 2 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance, 2 counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. Both will appear in bail court this morning.

Fraud Charges Laid

Yesterday morning officers from the Fraud Unit arrested 56-year old Ginette Comte of 111-99 Pine Street and charged her with one count of fraud and one count of theft over $5,000. It is alleged that between January 2004 and January 2005 the accused defrauded her employer, Cheque and Cash at 149 Trunk Road, of funds. It is alleged that the accused altered business records to conceal the crime during this time frame. Just over $79,000 in funds is alleged to have been taken. The accused will appear in court on July 18th.

Male Charged with Assault

Just before 11 pm last night City Police arrested a 20-year old male and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that yesterday morning the accused assaulted his ex-girlfriend by pulling her out of a vehicle while on Goulais Avenue and throwing her to the ground. The accused has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on July 20th.

Assault Charges Laid Against Girlfriend

An 18-year old female has been charged with one count of assault and will appear in court on July 20th. It is alleged that the female assaulted her common-law boyfriend by slapping him in the face. The incident occurred yesterday morning at the couple’s downtown residence.
