Train Derailment

City Police are still investigating the Huron Central train derailment that took on Pim St. yesterday evening. The right lane of southbound Pim St. remains closed to traffic due to damage to the asphalt. The cause of the incident is still unknown.

Noisy Party and Charge Laid

At approx. 1:00 AM this morning City Police were called to the 100 block of Sackville Rd. in regards to a noisy party. Upon arrival officers were informed that a loud party was taking place in one of the apartments. The officers were also advised that people were fighting. Officers located a 16-year-old youth that was responsible and charge that person with Mischief. The accused is alleged to have caused Mischief by interfering with the lawful enjoyment of the complainant’s property by creating the noise. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at 10:00 AM.

Breach of a Recognizance

Yesterday morning at approx. 9:40 AM City Police arrested a 17 year old youth and charged the person with Breach of a Recognizance. It is alleged that the youth, who was bound by a 10:00 PM curfew, failed to return home until the early morning hours. The accused will be appearing in Bail Court today at
10:00 AM.

City Police Need Your Help

Police are also investigating reports of a loud party in the 500 block of Parliament St. It was reported that at approx. 12:40 AM a person was seen carrying a baseball bat and arguing with other persons at a residence in this location. At approx. 3:20 AM City Police received a second call in regards to a person carrying a baseball bat and damaging vehicles on Brown St. Anyone with information about either of these incidents is asked to call the City Police.

There were several reports of vehicles being entered and items stolen from these vehicles. Police were called to:

1.The 1700 block of Third Line W
2.The 300 block of McNabb St.
3. The 400 block of Laurier Ave
4. The 100 block of Field Sq.


Break and Enter

City Police are investigating a Break and Enter to a garage in the 100 block of Hillside Dr. Culprits broke a lock on door to gain entry . It is not known what was taken.
