Two persons for bail court: 1) Yesterday afternoon city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and executed a warrant on a 23-year-old male.
Two persons for bail court:

1) Yesterday afternoon city police attended at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and executed a warrant on a 23-year-old male. It is alleged that on June 11th 2008 Graham Tarrant assaulted a male, known to him by punching the victim in the mouth. The victim suffered a cut and swollen lip but did not require medical attention. Charged with one count of assault is Graham Tarrant, age 23, of 680 Portage Lane Apt # 7.

2) At approx.3:00 pm yesterday afternoon city police attended at 221 Wellington St. W. and arrested Robert Bouchard, age 23, of 221 Wellington St. W. on a warrant. It is alleged that the accused, who was serving an intermittent sentence failed to return to the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre on December 15th 2007. As a result a warrant was issued for being unlawfully at large. The accused is charged with one count of unlawfully at large and one count of breach of probation.

Two females arrested for theft:

At approx. 11:45 am yesterday morning city police were called to the Canadian Tire Store regarding two shoplifters. It is alleged that the two females attended the store and stole several packets of mouse bait. The accused were apprehended outside the store by store security. Ashley Swanson, age 19, of 190 Church St.
(Front apartment) is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00. She will be appearing in court on Aug 25th at 9:00 am. A 19-year-old co-accused is also charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00 and one count of breach of probation - under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. She will be appearing in court on Aug 18th at 9:00 am.

Youth arrested for mischief:

Last evening at approx. 8:00 pm city police attended at a group home in the west end regarding a mischief complaint. Upon arrival officers arrested a 16-year-old male and charged him with one count of mischief. It is alleged that the youth caused damage to the group home by punching a hole in the wall, pulling down curtain rods and throwing a skateboard at a wall. He will be appearing in court on Aug. 26th at 9:30 am.

Female arrested for theft and assault:

At approx. 4:00 pm yesterday city police were called to the Sears Store in the Station Mall regarding a female shoplifter. It is alleged that the accused entered the Sears Store, selected an electric shaver, a battery pack, a set of gold earrings and a gold chain and then left the store without paying for the items. The accused was arrested outside the store, by security, where it is then alleged that she bit one of the security officers. Heidi-Jo Babic, age 34, of 59 Old Garden River Rd. Apt # 655 is charged with one count of theft under, one count of assault and one count of breach of probation. She will be appearing in court on Aug 25th at 9:00 am. It is not known if the security officer attended for medical attention.
Break and enters:

City police were called to investigate two reports of break and enter yesterday.

A residence in the 100 block of Palace Dr was entered- a quantity of coins and some electronic games were stolen.

An attempted break and enter was reported at a residence in the 400 block of Pine St.

Mischief:

A door to a residence in the 400 block of Queen St. W. was damaged.

Theft:

A resident of the 100 block of Carlbert St. reports that at approx. 2:30 am yesterday morning broke into his vehicle, stole his car stereo, damaged the front windshield and then damaged a tent in his yard.
