A 16-year-old female young offender was arrested on the 27th of January 2010 at 11:48 p.m. at a west end residence. It is alleged that officers were called to this location subsequent to a noise complaint and had occasion to check the accused who was on probation with a curfew condition to be in her residence (an east end location) between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. As a result, she was charged with breach of probation and given a court date for the 2nd of March 2010.

A 13-year-old male young offender was arrested on the 27th of January 2010 at 9:00 p.m. at his west end residence. It is alleged that the accused had failed to abide by conditions of his probation which included to take all medication prescribed to him and to keep the peace and be off good behavior. Upon arrest, police found in his possession a stolen cell phone. As a consequence he was charged with breach of probation x 2 and possession of stolen property. The accused is compelled to attend court on the 2nd of March 2010.

A 14-year-old male young offender was charged on the 28th of January 2010 at 3:25 a.m. at his west end residence for breaching a condition of his probation order. It is alleged that the accused had returned home earlier in an intoxicated state after consuming a quantity of alcohol. Police were contacted as the accused was on probation with a condition that directed him not to consume alcohol. He was issued with an appearance notice with a court date of the 6th of April 2010. The accused was additionally issued with a provincial offence act summons for being under 19 years of age and consuming alcohol. He was issued with a provincial offence court date for the 19th of February 2010.

A 16-year-old female young offender was arrested on the 28th of January 2010 at 12:02 a.m. at the Sault Ste. Marie Police Services building after turning herself in to police knowing that she was wanted for several domestic assaults. It is alleged that the accused had assaulted her ex-boyfriend on three separate occasions (on the 17th of January at a downtown location twice and on the 27th of January at a west end location). She was charged with assault x 3 and given a court date of the 2nd of March 2010.

Break and Enter

A residence in the 400 block of Sherbourne Street was broken into sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A television was taken.

Theft

A vehicle parked at a residence on Essex Lane was entered sometime yesterday and a car stereo was stolen.

Traffic Accident With Charges

61-year-old GlynnRobert Mount of 791 Fifth Line east was involved in a motor vehicle collision near the intersection of Spruce Street and St. Georges Avenue on the 27th of January 2010 at 3:38 p.m. It is alleged that Mr. Mount was driving his car north on Spruce Street when he stopped near the intersection at St. Georges Ave. and proceeded to back up into a laneway. However, a car was behind the accused and he struck that vehicle. As a result, Mr. Mount was issued a provincial offence act summons for violating the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario with regards to “starting from a stopped position – not in safety”. Damage to Mr. Mount’s vehicle was light while the other vehicle sustained moderate damage. Neither Mr. Mount nor the 61-year-old male driver of the other vehicle was injured.
