Domestic Related Arrest: Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 35 year-old male last night and charged him with one count of assault, four counts of breach of a release document and one count of breach of probation.

Domestic Related Arrest:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 35 year-old male last night and charged him with one count of assault, four counts of breach of a release document and one count of breach of probation.  It is alleged that on the 25th of January at approximately 9:20 pm officers attended at a disturbance at a downtown residence.  Police found the accused in an intoxicated state and in the company of a female that he was no to communicate with due to bail release order conditions from past domestic related offenses.  Further, the accused was to abstain from the consumption of alcohol, to keep the peace and be good and was on a curfew to be in his place of residence from 8 pm to 8 am. 

Male Youth Charged with Sexual Assault: 

Investigation Services officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service, investigating a dated sexual assault complaint, arrested a 17 year-old male youth last night and charged him with one count of sexual assault. It is alleged that in January 2010, the accused sexually assaulted a female known to him.  The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Female Arrested for Theft and Assault on Security Officer: 

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 41 year-old Shelly Lepage of #7B-40 Sunnydale last night at Sears on Bay Street and charged her with one count of assault and one count of theft under $5,000.  It is alleged that on the 25th of January at approximately 6 pm, the accused attended at Sears and stole a sweater. Further, the accused bit the security officer that apprehended her.  The accused is to appear in court on the 27th of February. 

Break and Enter Reports:

  • A residence on Fourth Line West was broken into yesterday.  Jewellery and medication were reported taken. 
  • An attempt break and enter was reported to a residence on Third Line West last night.
  • An attempt break and enter was reported to a residence on Elliott Road from the 24th – 25th of January.
