Male Arrested and Charged with Drug Related Offences after Search Warrant Executed at Residence

On the 20th of January at approximately 9:30 pm members of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team, Emergency Services Unit, Patrol Services along with assistance of the Joint Forces Intelligence Unit and the Provincial Organized Crime Enforcement Team, executed a search warrant at 297 McNabb Street, the residence of 26 year-old Christopher Alberta. During the course of the search officers located 2.4 grams of methamphetamine, several oxycodone and codeine tablets, a small amount of marijuana, packaging materials and $1525.00 in cash, as well as various drug paraphernalia. As a result, Christopher Alberta of 297 McNabb Street was arrested and charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Estimated value of drugs seized $350.00. The accused is to appear in court on the 1st of March.

Three Persons Arrested for Robbery

22 year-old David Wilson, 19 year-old Merissa Dinner both of 79B Grove Crescent and a 15 year-old male youth were all arrested at 79B Grove Crescent last evening at 6:40 pm. All have been charged with one count of robbery with a weapon. It is alleged that on the 20th of January at approximately 4:05 pm the three accused persons approached a male known to them on Trunk Road, struck him with a hockey stick and stole his backpack. The 22 year-old male victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result. At the time of the arrested the male youth was found in possession of three grams of marijuana that were divided into three separate baggies, a scale and packaging materials. He was further charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance for the purpose of trafficking as well as two counts of breach of probation orders for not keeping the peace and being good and for possession of a controlled drug. The two adults charged are to attend in court on the 22nd of February and the youth on the 2nd of March.

Shoplifting Arrests

25 year-old Tashia Farrell of 232 Great Northern Road was arrested on the 20th of January at 8:30 pm at Zellers on Northern Avenue and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. It is alleged that she attended at the store at 7:25 pm and stole some cosmetics. She is to attend in court on the 1st of March.
34 year-old Ryan Pears of #11-254 Dacey Road was arrested on the 20th of January at 6:23 pm at his residence and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00. IOt is alleged that on the 20th of January at approximately 4:36 pm the accused attended at the Rexall Pharmacy on Trunk Road and stole some cologne. He is to appear in court on the 22nd of February.

Two Males Arrested on Outstanding Warrants

40 year-old Stephen Kerr of #303-341 Queen Street East was arrested on an outstanding warrant on the 20th of January at 10:25 am at the court house and charged with one count of theft over $5,000.00. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
20 year-old Gilbert Wilson of 17 Wallace Terrace (main) was arrested on the 20th of January at 3:50 am at the city police station after turning himself in. He has been charged with one count of fail to appear for prints, one count of fail to appear for court and one count of breach of probation. He is to appear in court on the 22nd of February.

Theft from Vehicle

A window was smashed on a vehicle parked on Kohler Street overnight on the 20th of January. A computer and a laptop were reported stolen.

Mischief Reports

Vehicles on Macdonald Avenue and Kohler Street were reported damaged-windows were smashed and forced open.
