Two Domestic Related Arrests:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 38 year-old male on the 18th of January with regards to a domestic related incident. It is alleged that on the 18th of January the accused called his ex-common-law girlfriend and threatened to attend at her residence and assault her. At the time the accused was on probation with conditions not to communicate with the victim. As a result the accused was charged with one count of threaten death or bodily harm and one count of breach of probation. He is to appear in bail court this morning.
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 29 year-old male on the 18th of January and charged him with one count assault and one count of threaten death or bodily harm. It is alleged that the accused was involved in a domestic dispute with his wife at their residence on the 18th of January and during the dispute, he assaulted and threatened to kill her. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.
Female Arrested for Assault:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 35 year-old Valeria Szalai of #15-1547 Trunk Road on the 18th of January at 8:35 pm and charged her with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 18th of January at approximately 5:45 pm, while at Sault Area Hospital, the accused assaulted a staff member. The accused is to appear in court on the 27th of February.
Male Arrested for Theft from Vehicle:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Randy Ingram of 358 Bloor Street West overnight and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000, one count of possession of property obtained by crime and one count of breach of probation. It is alleged that on the 18th of January at approximately 10:50 pm the accused entered a vehicle on John Street and stole a watch and some change. The accused was located a short time later in the area with the stolen property in his possession.
Three Persons Charged in Relation to Shoplifting Incidents:
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged two persons in relation to shoplifting incident that occurred at the Metro on Churchill Boulevard overnight. It is alleged that the two attended at the store at approximately 12:05 am on the 19th of January and stole some meat items. As a result, 34 year-old Richard Levesque and 29 year-old Marina Harper, both of 249 Glasgow Avenue, were charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 and are to appear in court on the 27th of February.
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service charged 58 year-old Craig Herriman of #7-486 Queen Street East at 5:30 pm on the 18th of January at Sears in the Station Mall for allegedly stealing a bottle of cologne. He is to appear in court on the 27th of February.
Theft Report:
A purse was reported stolen from a business on the 300 block of Wellington Street West just after 10 pm last night.
