Two Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning: Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 49 year-old male yesterday morning and charged him with two counts of assault and one count of threaten death.

Two Domestic Related Arrests for Bail Court Appearance this Morning:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 49 year-old male yesterday morning and charged him with two counts of assault and one count of threaten death.  It is alleged that on the 6th February the accused assaulted his common law girlfriend at their residence and also threatened to kill her.  The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 32 year-old male at 4:30 am this morning and charged him with one count of unlawfully in a dwelling, one count of assault and three counts of breach of probation.  It is alleged that on the 9th of February at approximately 4:00 am the accused attended at the residence of his ex-girlfriend in an intoxicated state, forced his way inside and refused to leave when she asked him to. 

At the time of the incident the accused was on a probation order with conditions not to molest, harass or annoy the victim, to remain away from her place of residence and not to communicate with her.  The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Charged in Relation to Stolen Licence Plates:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 23 year-old Joshua Maitland of 32 Harris Street at 12:35 pm on the 8th of February and charged him with one count of possession of property obtained by crime.  It is alleged that on the 8th of February the accused was operating a 1997 blue GMC on Great Northern Road with stolen plates affixed to it.  The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of March. 

Male Charged in Relation to Pawning Stolen Property:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 33 year-old Stephen O’Leary of 80 Pawating Place on the 8th of February at 4:25 pm at his residence and charged him with one count of possession of property obtained by crime.  It is alleged that on the 14th of October, 2011, the accused attended at a local pawn shop and pawned two stolen guitars. The accused is to appear in court on the 12th of March.

Two Males Charged in Relation to Shoplifting Incidents:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 52 year-old Jack Fuller of 19 Albert Street East on the 9th of February at 2:49 am at Metro in the Churchill Plaza and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.  It is alleged that on the 9th of February the accused attended at the grocery store and stole a bottle of moisture gloss.  He is to appear in court on the 12th of March.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 28 year-old Edward Petts of 125 Gore Street (back apt.) on the 8th of February at 10:00 am at Zellers in the Station Mall and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.  It is alleged the accused attended at the store at approximately 9:45 am and stole 4 packs of chocolate bars. He was apprehended by store security and held for police.  He is to appear in court on the 12th of March.

Break and Enter Reports:

  • A residence on Elmwood Avenue was broken into last night.  Jewellery was reported stolen. 
  • A residence on Gillies Street was broken into yesterday.  Cash, a computer and monitor were reported stolen.
  • A residence on Raymond Street was entered last night.  Cash was reported stolen.
  • A residence on Brien Avenue was entered on the 7th of February.  A carton of cigarettes and an Acer Laptop was reported taken.
  • An attempt break and enter was reported to a residence on Cathcart Street.  A window was damaged as a result. 

Theft Reports:

  • A snowplow was reported stolen form St. George’s Avenue.
  • There were two complaints of attempted theft of a vehicles and theft of gas reported at businesses on Great Northern Road yesterday. 
  • A vehicle on Crystal Place was entered and an iPhone 4 was reported stolen.
