Shoplifting Related Charges: Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old Anthony Yim of 18 Hollywood Avenue Apt.

Shoplifting Related Charges: 

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 20 year-old Anthony Yim of 18 Hollywood Avenue Apt. 1003, Toronto, Ontario on the 1st of February at 11:16 am and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000.  It is alleged that on the 1st of February at approximately 10:25 am the accused attended at Sears in the Station Mall and stole four packages of socks.  He was apprehended by store security and turned over to police.  He is to appear in bail court this morning. 

Male Arrested for Breaking into Vehicles:

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Codie Roach of 36 Birch Street at 2:50 am overnight and charged him with one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose to the public, one count of possession of housebreaking tools and two counts of fail to appear for prints.  It is alleged that on the 2nd of February at approximately 2:05 am the accused entered a truck in a driveway of a residence on Pine Street and took a camera, a phone charger and some change. The accused then continued to check other vehicles in the area when a witness called police.  Police located the accused in the area and at the time he was found to be in possession of a baton, flashlight and gloves.  A check of the accused revealed that he was wanted for failing to attend for fingerprints on two occasions in January in relation to stolen property charges. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Two Domestic Related Arrests:  

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 24 year-old male on the 1st of February at 2:41 pm and charged him with three counts of breach of probation and one count of mischief under $5,000.  It is alleged that on the 1st of February the accused was involved in a domestic dispute with his ex-girlfriend and during the dispute he kicked and damaged her mother’s vehicle. Police investigating the dispute discovered that the accused has been communicating with the accused and staying at her residence when he was on probation with conditions that he not communicate with her.  Further, he was not to harass, molest, or attend at the victim’s residence.  The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested a 33 year-old male on the 1st of February at 11:50 am and charged him with one count of mischief under $5,000.  It is alleged that on the 1st of February at approximately 10:25 am the accused attended at his ex-girlfriend’s residence and kicked the door of the home numerous times, damaging it.

Update to Pim Street Break and Enter and Assault on Resident – Accused Facing Additional Charges

Homeowner Assaulted in Break and Enter - Seeking Public’s Assistance

At 5:40 am this morning, the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service was called to a break and enter in progress at a residence in the 100 block of Pim Street.  The resident was home at the time and was assaulted by the intruder. The male suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival.  Police searched the area with negative results.  The resident is being treated for non-life threatening injuries at the hospital.  Officers remain at the scene and the investigation is ongoing. The suspect is described as a white male, thin build, wearing a grey and black jacket and toque. 

Arrest Made in Pim Street Break and Enter and Assault on Resident:

The Sault Ste. Marie Police have made an arrest in this mornings Break and Enter and Assault that occurred in the 100 block of Pim Street, Sault Ste. Marie.

Charged with Break and Enter and commit Robbery as well as Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose is Kyle Justin FLEURY age 19 of 179 Bruce Street, Sault Ste. Marie. Our investigation is continuing and further details will be released Thursday February 2nd, 2012.

Update -   Accused Facing Additional Charges:

The accused 19 year-old Kyle FLEURY of 179 Bruce Street is facing further charges in relation to this incident, as well as a number of incidents that followed the 5:40 am Pim Street Break and Enter.

It is alleged that on the 1st of February at approximately 5:30 am the accused broke into the residence in the 110 block of Pim Street.  The resident confronted the accused and was struck with a metal bar. The accused stole the victim’s I-phone and fled on foot.  Later that morning, the accused broke into two more residences on Pilgrim Street and stole a number of items, including keys for one of the homeowner’s vehicles. 

The accused then drove away in the vehicle. He was observed by several witnesses operating the 1997 Buick Lesabre in a dangerous manner and at excessive speeds in the downtown area.  During this time, the vehicle was involved in three separate fail to remain vehicle and property collisions, and a pedestrian collision involving two persons. The vehicle was eventually driven into a snow bank, where it struck a utility pole and a fence on private property on Grace Street.  

The accused attempted to flee from the scene but was quickly arrested by police.  He was found to be under the influence of drugs and in possession of some of the stolen property.  Additional stolen property was also located in the vehicle. 

No injuries were reported in the motor vehicle collisions.  With regards to the pedestrian collision, minor injuries, not requiring medical attention were reported to the pedestrians.  Minor damage was reported to the fence and pole. 

At this time 19 year-old Kyle FLEURY of  179 Bruce Street is facing the following charges:  

  • Three counts of Break and Enter
  • One count of Robbery with Violence
  • One count of Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
  • One count of Impaired Driving
  • One count of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
  • Three counts of Fail to Remain at Accident
  • Two Counts of Possession of Stolen Property
