Break & Enter at the Beaver Gas Station Shortly before 1:30 am this morning officers from Patrol Services attended in the area of the Beaver Gas Bar on Korah Road after a citizen reported two suspicious persons in the area.

Shortly before 1:30 am this morning officers from Patrol Services attended in the area of the Beaver Gas Bar on Korah Road after a citizen reported two suspicious persons in the area. Upon their arrival officers observed two persons leaving the business. A check of the business revealed that it had been broken into. Officers arrested a male and female accused in this break and enter. A wrench that had been taken from business was located on the male accused as well as a flick knife. The male was on probation at the time of the offence. The following accused persons will appear in bail court this morning:

1) 20-year old Justin Whalen of 1-339 Wallace Terrace has been arrested and charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence, one count of possession of property obtained by crime, one count of possession for purpose dangerous to public and two counts of breach of probation.

2) 19-year old Ashlynn Errington of upper-239 Wallace Terrace has been arrested and charged with one count of break and enter and commit an offence and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.

Impaired Drivers

1) 55-year old Nancy Oliviero of 11 Rossmore Road was arrested and charged early this morning with one count of consume over the legal limit. Shortly before 2 am this morning patrol officers attended on Bay Street regarding a vehicle in a snow bank. Upon police arrival officers noted the accused, who was in the vehicle, allegedly showed signs of being under the influence of alcohol. She will appear in court on March 5th.


2) 29-year old Barbara Arsenault of 3-420 McNabb Street was arrested and charged with one count of consume over the legal limit. Last evening shortly after 8 pm Canada Custom Officers stopped the accused as it was alleged she was under the influence of alcohol. The police were called and the accused was subsequently arrested. She will appear in court on March 5th.

The following break and enters were reported in the last 24 hour period:

1) Yesterday morning a homeowner on Gore Street reported that their residence had been entered and 2 box sets of DVD’s were taken.

2) Between the 26th and 28th of January a home on Hudson Street was entered. Two small jewellery boxes were taken.

3) Between the 29th of January and the 31st of January a residence on Alden Road was entered. A digital camera was taken.

Road Closures due to Bon Soo

The Bon Soo Winter Carnival kicks off tomorrow night. As with past years there will be several road closures during this event. Also while in the areas where various events are taking place, keep in mind there will be more vehicular and pedestrian traffic than normal for this time of year. Slow down while in these areas. The following roads will be closed on the following dates.

- Foster Drive will be closed from Elgin Street to Spring Street on February 2nd from 5 pm to 10 pm.

- Lake Street entrance to Bellevue Park will be closed on February 3rd and 4th from 7 am to 10 pm.

- Shore Drive east of Pine Street will be closed from February 2nd at 5 pm to February 11th at 10 pm.
