Female Charged with Theft Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 44 year-old Theresa Palmer of #308-634 Connaught Avenue on the 7 th of December at 3:05 pm at her residence and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 44 year-old Theresa Palmer of #308-634 Connaught Avenue on the 7th of December at 3:05 pm at her residence and charged her with one count of theft under $5,000.  The accused is the Superintendent of 634 Connaught Avenue and collects rent from some of the tenants of the apartment complex.  It is alleged that on the 2nd of December the accused revived a cash rental payment from one of the tenants in the complex and did not turn it over to the owner of the building.  She is to appear in court on the 9th of January 2012. 

 

Male Arrested for Theft and Possession of Stolen Property

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Investigation Unit arrested 23 year-old Trevor Matthews of 425 Hwy 552 W Goulais River at 7:16 pm last night at the police station and charged him with one count of theft under $5,000 and one count of possession of property obtained by crime.  It is alleged that between the 28th and 29th of November the accused stole some transport rims and radiators from a local business property and then attended at a scrap and slag metal business and sold them.  The accused is to appear in court on the 9th of January 2012. 

 

Break and Enter/Theft Reports

  • A business in the 600 block of Great Northern Road was broken into overnight.  Two booster packs with a compressor were reported stolen. 
  • A residence in the 200 block of Wellington Street East was entered sometime between the 1st and 7th of December.  A DVD player and DVD’s were reported stolen.
  • Vehicles were entered on McFadden Avenue, Shafer Avenue, Moody Street and Elmwood Avenue.  Cash, CD’s, change and a pack sack were reported stolen.
  • A trailer plate was reported stolen on Boundary Road. 
  • Metal was reported stolen from a business on Bay Street.

 

Mischief Report

  • A vehicle was keyed on Great Northern Road.

Reminder to Drivers to Adjust Driving to Weather and Road Conditions

With the recent snow fall some roadways are slushy and may be slippery.  The Sault Ste Marie Police Service would like to remind drivers to adjust their driving habits according to weather and road conditions. Drivers should reduce speeds and allow themselves a little more travel time to arrive at their destinations.
