One person will be appearing in bail court. 1) On Monday December 24th Michipicoten Township Police arrested a 22-year-old male in Wawa on outstanding warrants, held by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service that dated back to July of this year.
One person will be appearing in bail court.

1) On Monday December 24th Michipicoten Township Police arrested a 22-year-old male in Wawa on outstanding warrants, held by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service that dated back to July of this year. It is alleged that on July 30th 2007 the accused assaulted his common-law girlfriend by grabbing her by the neck and choking her. It is also alleged that he forcibly confined the victim in her bedroom by tying the bedroom door shut and that he threatened to kill her. At the time of the incident the victim suffered minor injuries to her neck but did not seek medical attention. The 22-year-old male is charged with one count of assault, one count of threatening death, one count of forcible confinement and one count of breach of probation.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service was called to investigate six reports of break and enter over the past three days.

Break-ins were reported to the following:

1. Northern Height Public School located at 210 Grand Blvd was entered- electronic equipment was stolen.

2. Porkees Sausage located at 254 Goulais Ave was entered and a quantity of meat products was stolen.

3. Alexander Henry High School was entered - unknown what was stolen.

4. An attempted entry was made at the Mount St. Joseph Centre located at 100A Ontario Ave. No entry was gained but windows were broken.

5. A residence in the 100 block of Salisbury Ave. had a window broken and an attempt at entering was made.

6. A residence in the 100 block of West St. was entered on Wed. December 26th at approx. 11:40 pm. A male suspect forced his way into the residence and attempted to steal a computer. The female resident confronted the suspect causing him to flee. Suspect left area in a red Dakota pickup truck. The male suspect is described as: Male, white, 40 years of age, tall, blond hair, wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service received two complaints of mischief over the past 72 hours.

A truck parked in the 400 block of First Ave. had its truck cap window broken. A vehicle parked in the 300 block of Gillies Ave had its tires slashed.
