Male Wanted by City Police The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 22 year old Myles Ketola, who is wanted on a warrant in relation to a robbery.

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating 22 year old Myles Ketola, who is wanted on a warrant in relation to a robbery.

It is believed that on August 7th at approximately 1:30pm Myles Ketola and 23 year old Christopher James Rivard of 655 Wallace Terrace attended at the Wishing Well Kiosk at the Cambrian Mall. One male jumped the kiosk and tried to get to the till, while the other male held a knife out. They were unsuccessful at getting any money and left in a Chevy Impala driven by 23 year old Tyler Roy Ames of 34 Queen Street West. That vehicle was stopped by police at approximately 5pm later that day on Queen Street East. Both Tyler Ames and Christopher Rivard were arrested and charged in this incident.

Still at large is Myles Ketola who is described as a white male, thin build, brown hair and blue eyes.

The City Police would like to remind the public not to approach this individual as he may be violent. Any member of the public who has information on the whereabouts of Ketola is asked to contact the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service at 911, 949-6300 ext 210 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-tips.

Police Seek Assistance

The Sault Ste Marie Police Service Traffic Division is appealing for witnesses to a collision which occurred on Tuesday afternoon at approximately 5:30 at the corner of Great Northern Road and Third Line East. The collision involved a transport trailer unit and a green Chevy Lumina. It is believed that the transport trailer unit was traveling south bound on Great Northern Road and the Chevy Lumina was north bound also on Great Northern Road, attempting to make a left hand turn onto Third Line East. Both vehicles collided within the intersection. The driver of the Chevy Lumina suffered minor injuries and his female passenger suffered major injuries. Anyone who may have witnessed this collision is being asked to contact the City Police at 949-6300 ext. #382.

Stabbing at Sir James Dunn

On the 27th of July just after 10pm, after a short altercation a male was stabbed on the property of Sir James Dunn High School. It is believed that the confrontation took place after a female who was in the backyard of a residence on Hugill Street was struck on her hand by a brick that had been thrown from the Sir James Dunn Parking lot. The stabbing victim from this incident then proceeded to the parking lot where he confronted a group of youths. At this time a fight broke out between the victim and the accused and the victim was then stabbed three times with a sharp edged weapon. The youth that were present and the accused then took off on foot. On the 8th of August just after 2 pm the accused that can not be named because of his age attended at the City Police station and was arrested in this incident. He has been charged with 1 count of aggravated assault and 1 count of possession of a weapon for the purpose dangerous to the public. He will be appearing in court this morning. The male who was stabbed and the female who was struck by the brick did not suffer life threatening injuries from this incident.

Two Caught Stealing at Auto Rama

Early this morning Officers responded to a call regarding suspicious individuals at the Auto Rama Sales Inc. on Black Road. Upon arrival officers found two individuals trying to hide on the property. It is believed that 23 year old Shawn McCall of 140 Woodward Avenue and a 17 year old female stole a 95 Mazda Pick up belonging to Auto Rama, by breaking the steering column and punching the ignition out. It is also believed that the two individuals stole license plates of a second vehicle which was parked in the 400 block of Trunk Road. When arrested the accused had in their possession tools and the female had a canister of OC Spray (Pepper Spray). They have both been charged with 1 count each of theft under $5000, 1 count of possession of house breaking tools, 2 counts of possession of stolen property and breach of probation. The female has also been charged with one count of possession of a weapon for the purpose dangerous to the public. Both will be appearing in court this morning.

Domestic Incident

A 34 year male has been charged in a domestic related incident. It is believed that just after 1pm yesterday afternoon the accused assaulted his girlfriend by slapping her across the face. The accused was located just before 8pm last night at his residence in the west end of the city. He has been charged with 1 count of assault and will be appearing in bail court this morning.

Child Porn Charges

42 year old Antonio Santoro of 605 Queen Street west was arrested yesterday just before 6pm at his residence. City Police officers executed a search warrant at his residence yesterday and found images of child pornography on his computer in his possession. He has been charged with 1 count of possession of child pornography, and 2 counts of possession of child pornography for the purpose of distribution. He will be appearing in court this morning.
