Arrested for Break in on Northland Rd

42 year-old Jessie Mandino of no fixed address was arrested on the 29th of August at 10:03 pm at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Centre and charged with one count of break, enter and commit and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. It is alleged that on the 17th of August at approximately 9:50 pm the accused broke into a residence on Northland Road and stole some jewellery. On the 24th of August, City Police conducted a search warrant at a downtown residence the accused was staying at and located some of the jewellery that had been taken in this break and enter. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Fail to Appear in Court

A 14 year-old male youth was arrested at the city police station on the 29th of August around 12:16 pm on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of fail to appear court from the 10th of July. He is to appear in court on the 2nd of October.

Four People Arrested with Drugs

Four persons were arrested in a vehicle that was stopped by city police yesterday on McNabb Street around 8:30 pm. It is alleged that when police checked the vehicle that contained the four persons inside they located 2 bags of marijuana, a small amount of cocaine, cash and drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale and packaging material. As a result the following four persons were arrested:

1) 20 year-old Jacob Leonard of #1-95 Goulais Avenue has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. He is to appear in court on the 1st of October.

2) 20 year-old John Gibbs of 173 Goulais Avenue has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. He is to appear in court on the 1st of October.

3) 18 year-old Jordon Morrar of 36 Nichol Avenue has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance, one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance and one count of breach of a release document as at the time of the incident he was in company of one of the co-accused that he is on conditions not to communicate with. He is to appear in court on the 1st of October.

4) A 17 year-old female youth that cannot be named, was also charged with one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance and one count of possession for the purpose of trafficking in a controlled drug or substance. She is to appear in court on the 2nd of October.

The following break and enters were reported yesterday and overnight:

1) There was an attempt break and enter reported to a residence on Patrick Street around 4 am this morning.

2) A residence on Trunk Road was entered sometime between the 26th of August and the 28th of August.

Robbery from City Landfill, One in Custody

Police were called to the City Landfill Site on 5th Line around 2:15 am this morning after receiving a call regarding an alarm. An employee that was checking the site after being notified of the alarm observed two males fleeing from the office on foot. Police, with the assistance of the Canine Unit tracked one of the males to Industrial Park. An adult male is currently in custody. The investigation is still ongoing.
