Four persons to attend bail court: 1) Yesterday evening the O.P.P. Blind River Detachment arrested a 27-year-old male that was wanted on two warrants held by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service.
Four persons to attend bail court:

1) Yesterday evening the O.P.P. Blind River Detachment arrested a 27-year-old male that was wanted on two warrants held by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service. Charged with one count of fail to appear in court and one count of drive while disqualified is Derek Nott, age 27, of 16 Elmwood St. It is alleged that the accused failed to appear in court on Sept 24, 2007 on a charge of driving while disqualified.

2) Yesterday afternoon city police received a call to attend at Joe’s No Frills located at 519 Korah Rd. regarding two shoplifters that had just left in a vehicle. A short time later officers located the vehicle and the two suspects were arrested. It is alleged that Alain Chartrand, age 38 and Tammy Moore, age 40 entered the grocery store and stole a shopping cart filled with groceries. Accused Alain Chartrand, age 38, of 94 Allard St. Apt 402 is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00. Mr. Chartrand was also charged with one count of fail to appear for identification. He will be appearing in bail court this morning. The co-accused Tammy Moore, age 40, of 94 Allard St. Apt 402 is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000.00 and will be appearing in court on Sept 22nd at 9:00 am.

3) Yesterday afternoon city police attended at an east end address and arrested a 19-year-old male. It is alleged that in the early morning hours of Aug 20th the accused and another male stole a 2002 Trailblazer from an address on Cunningham Rd. When police went to arrest the accused he obstructed the officers by identifying himself as another person. Mike Rhodes, age 19, of 83 Waters St., Cambridge Ont. Is charged with one count of theft over $ 5,000.00 and one count of obstruct police.

4) At approx. 1:20 am this morning city police attended at a north end residence regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival officers were informed that the female victim had been assaulted. It is alleged that the accused, a 24-year-old male, was involved in an argument with his common-law girlfriend and subsequently assaulted her by grabbing and pulling her around. The male is charged with one count of assault. The victim did not re quire medical attention.

Break and enter:

A residence in the 100 bock of Birch St. was entered yesterday. A utility trailer was stolen.

Mischief:

A truck parked in the 100 block of Third Line W. was damaged.
A residence in the 300 block of Douglas St. reports that unknown persons tore the shingles off the shed roof.
The Blue Boy Restaurant located at 315 John St. reports that a door was damaged.
A resident of the 400 block of John St. reports that unknown persons stolen and damaged his solar lights.
A residence inn the 100 block of James St. was damaged.

Thefts:

A residence in the 700 block of Frontenac St. and in the 200 block of John St. each report two bicycles stolen.
A purse containing cash and personal papers was stolen from a business in the 600 block of Queen St. E.
