One person to appear in bail court Last night members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old male for breach of probation and breaching a prohibition order.
One person to appear in bail court
Last night members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 46-year-old male for breach of probation and breaching a prohibition order. It is alleged that on Tuesday Aug 17th at 6:00 pm the accused breached the conditions of his probation and prohibition orders by associating with and communicating with persons under the age of 14 years. The offence is alleged to have taken place at a swimming area on Whitefish Island. Daniel Greco, age 46, of 8 Trunk Rd. is charged with one count of breach of a prohibition order and three counts of breach of probation.

Male arrested for theft
Yesterday members of the Sault Ste Marie Police Service arrested a 47-year-old male for theft under $ 5,000. It is alleged that at 9:45 yesterday morning the accused entered Kelly’s Grocery, in the Station Mall and stole two cans of Red Bull, valued at $ 4.76. The accused was apprehended by mall security and turned over to police. Todd Petrie, age 47, of 142 Albert St. E. apt # 2 is charged with one count of theft under $ 5,000. Mr. Petrie is scheduled to appear in court on Sept 20th at 9:00 am.

Break and enter
A residence in the 200 block of Brown St. was entered. Electronic items were stolen.

Mischief
A vehicle parked in the 100 block of Oakbine Ave was damaged.
A window was broken at a residence in the 100 block of Cambridge Pl.
At approximately 11:00 pm last night four young males were seen damaging the moose carving at the Civic Center.

Theft
A wallet was stolen from a residence in the 100 blocks of Cathcart St.

Note to the Public
A funeral procession with the ancestral skeletal remains of six Anishnabek members will be leaving Bellevue Park this morning at approximately 11:00 am. The procession will leave Bellevue Park east along Queen St. E. to Pim St. It will then go north on Pim St and Great Northern Rd/ Highway 17 north to the Batchewana First Nation’s Goulais Mission burial grounds. The public is advised to expect traffic delays along this route.
