Male Arrested on Outstanding Domestic Related Warrant

A 22 year-old male, wanted on a domestic related warrant, was arrested yesterday morning by officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service. He has been charged with one count of assault and one count of assault with a weapon. It is alleged that on the 8th of August the accused got into a verbal argument with his ex-girlfriend at his residence and he threw bleach in her face. The accused had fled prior to police arrival. The victim had to attend at the hospital to receive medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. The accused is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Charged with Sexual Offences

Wesley, Kenneth, Alton, age 46, of #214-100 James Street was arrested by the Sault Ste Marie Police Service Investigation Unit yesterday afternoon and charged with one count of sexual assault with threat of harm to a third person, two counts of invitation to sexual touching, a person under 16 years of age and one count of sexual interference with a person under 16 years of age. The charges were laid after investigators commenced an investigation on the 3rd of August regarding a dated sexual assault complaint. The victim and the accused are known to each other. The accused is to appear in court on the 20th of September.

Female Charged with Fraud Related Offences

Brenda Mowery, age 52, of 57 Cambridge Place was arrested by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Fraud Unit yesterday afternoon. She has been charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00, one count of fraud over $5,000.00 and one count of fraudulently possession or use a credit card. The charges were laid after completion of an investigation which was commenced by investigators on the 8th of February 2010 and occurred between September 3rd and February 2nd 2010. The victim and the accused are known to each other. The victim was defrauded of approximately $8,709.58. The accused is to appear in court on the 20th of September.

Four Males Arrested for Robbery Incident at Local Bar

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service located and arrested four males overnight for a robbery incident that occurred at a local bar on the evening of the 4th of August. It is alleged that the four accused males assaulted a male known to them while at the bar, stole some jewelery he was wearing at the time and some cash from his wallet. The victim received non-life threatening injuries at the time that did not require medical attention.

The following four males are to appear in bail court this morning:

1) Dennis Corey Guzzo, age 28, of #104-135 Cambridge Place charged with one count of robbery and one count of breach of probation. At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions to keep the peace and be good.
2) Wesley Hallam, age 28, of 63 Foothill Road is charged with one count of robbery, one count of breach of probation in relation to the robbery incident and one count of possession of a controlled drug or substance as he was found in possession of a small amount of cocaine at the time of his arrest. Further, the accused was wanted on an outstanding warrant and was charged with one count of breach of a release document and one count of breach of probation.
3) Derek Schill, age 50, of 202 Wellington Street East is charged with one count of robbery.
4) Robert Majic of #1-16 Queen Street West is charged with one count of robbery and one count of breach of probation.
