Pornography Investigation Results in Arrest
An additional online child pornography investigation that commenced on the 12th of July 2010 has resulted in another arrest in the Sault Ste. Marie area. On April 6th, officers from the Ontario Provincial Police Child Sexual Exploitation Section and Electronic Crimes Section as well as members from the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Technological Crime Unit, attended at 12 St. Basil’s Drive and arrested 46 year-old Alvin Dowding of that address. He has been charged with one count of Possession of Child pornography and is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Assault
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 42 year-old Albert Morin of #36-864 Queen Street East yesterday afternoon and charged him with one count of assault. It is alleged that on the 6th of April at approximately 11:30 am, the accused attended at the residence of a person known to him and assaulted them. He is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant
Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 26 year-old Anthony Link of 257 McNabb Street yesterday afternoon at his residence on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that he failed to appear in court on the 23rd of May. He was charged with one count of fail to appear court and is to appear in bail court this morning.

Male Arrested for Theft of Truck
Investigation Services officers arrested 26 year-old William Shubrook of #6-196 James Street on the 6th of April at 3:50 pm at the police station and charged him with one count of theft over $5,000 and one count of possession of stolen property. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for allegedly stealing a 2008 Toyota Pickup from a residence on the 19th of March 2011. The accused is to appear in court on the 9th of May.

Officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 19 year-old Tiana Wiegand of 85 Wellington Street East (upstairs) on the 6th of April at the police station on an outstanding warrant. It is alleged that the accused was wanted for failing to appear court on the 21st of March. She is to appear in court on the 9th of May.

Break and Enter Reports
• A residence on Willoughby Street was entered yesterday morning. Some liquor and change was reported taken.
• A residence on Caledon Street was broken into yesterday morning. Money was reported taken.
• A shed was broken into on Old Goulais Bay Road. Items stolen included: a Mastercraft table saw, tool box with tools, and a blower bag for a John Dear tractor

Mischief
A fire was set in a dumpster located in the area of Elgin Street and King Street.
