Assault, Forcible Confinement & Breach

A 38 year old male will appear in bail court today charged with the following offences, assault causing bodily harm, forcible confinement and two counts of breaching his probation. It is alleged that on the 01 April 2009 he assaulted his common law wife but punching her in the face and head and when she attempted to leave he stopped her and would not allow her to leave. She eventually escaped and made her way to a family member’s home where police were called. The victim suffered bruising to the face and side of her head. The accused was also on probation at the time of the occurrence and has been charged with two counts of breaching his order.

Domestic Offences

A 29 year old male will appear in bail court this morning accused of numerous domestic related offences. It is alleged that the accused on the 25 March 2009 became angry with his girlfriend when she discussed ending their relationship. An argument escalated to a point when the accused grabbed a knife and confined the victim for several hours. The victim escaped but the accused caught her and brought her back into the residence using a choke hold. Once she was back inside the accused grabbed her by the hair and banged her head into the wall and slapped her in the face. On the 27 March 2009 another argument began about the relationship and they went their separate ways. When the victim returned home she observed the accused entering her home. She waited outside for him to leave, but he came out and ordered her into the house. When she refused he grabbed her again around the neck and forced her into the house. It is further alleged that the accused left the residence taking the victims rent money. Police were notified and on the 1st of April 2009 the accused was located and arrested. He has been charged with 3 counts of assault, 1 count of assault with a weapon, 3 counts of forcible confinement and 1 count of theft under.
