Two Persons Arrested on Outstanding Warrants: A 27 year-old male was arrested on the 18 th of April on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of fail to attend court in relation to a domestic related assault.

Two Persons Arrested on Outstanding Warrants:

A 27 year-old male was arrested on the 18th of April on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of fail to attend court in relation to a domestic related assault.  He is to appear in court on the 28th of May.

Two Persons Arrested in Regards to Shoplifting Related Incidents:

Lionel Taylor, age 32, of 187 Hudson Street was arrested on the 18th of April at the Station Mall and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00.  It is alleged that the accused attended at the Dollarama store on that date and stole some items.  The accused is to appear in court on the 28th of May.

Joseph Cognigni, age 60, of 282 Sixth Avenue was arrested at the city police station on the 18th of April and charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00.  It is alleged that the accused was wanted for a shoplifting incident that occurred on the 15th of April at the Metro Store on Second Line West.  He is to appear in court on the 28th of May. 

Female Charged with Attempt Murder in Relation to Domestic Dispute Incident:  

A 34 year-old female will be appearing in bail court this morning charged with one count of attempt murder and four counts of breach of probation in relation to a domestic related incident that occurred on the 18th of April at approximately 3 am.  It is alleged that the accused attended at the residence of her ex-boyfriend armed with a knife and stabbed him with it while he slept.   

The victim received serious, non-life threatening injuries as result that required medical treatment.  At the time of the incident the accused was on probation with conditions that she not communicate, molest harass or annoy the victim, not to attend at his residence and to keep the peace and be good.

Female Facing Drug and Weapons Charges:  

On the 18th of April, officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service Street Team and Patrol Services conducted a weapons investigation that resulted with a female facing drug and weapons charges.  During the investigation and a search of a local motel room, officers located a conducted energy weapon (taser), two vials of cannabis resin, a small amount of cannabis hashish and various drug paraphernalia.  As a result, 29 year-old Devon Walsh, of #2-37 Bruce Street was charged with one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon and two counts of possession of a controlled drug or substance.  She is to appear in court on the 28th of May.

Male Arrested on Outstanding Warrant:  

Matthew Nadon, age 30, of 74 Dunn Street, Toronto was arrested on the 18th of April on an outstanding warrant and charged with one count of theft.  He is to appear in court on the 28th of May. 

Break and Enter/Theft Reports:

  • A residence on Dauphin Drive was entered yesterday.  Jewellery and a laptop were reported taken. 
  • A local high school alarm was activated at approximately 9:54 pm last night.  Entry appears to have been gained.   It is not known at this time if anything was taken.
  • A residence on Wilcox was reported broken into sometime after the 20th of March.  A cell phone, cash and cigarettes were reported taken.
  • Items were stolen from vehicles on Third Line East and Chicora Crescent.
