Male Charged in Relation to Shoplifting Incident:

Calvin Lynn, age 19, of 607 Douglas Street was charged with one count of theft under $5,000.00 in relation to an alleged shoplifting incident at the Dollarama store on Northern Avenue on the 9_^th of April.  He is to appear in court on the 14_^th of May.

Disturbance at Local Downtown Residence Results in Arrests:  

Two males were arrested last night after officers responded to a disturbance at a local downtown residence. It is alleged that just after 9 am, the two males attended at the residence of a person known to them on Albert Street East and demanded cash.  One of the males was carrying a canister of pepper spray, pointed it at a person inside the residence and made threats to burn the home down.  The second male struck the homeowner with a chain and also made threats. The victim received non-life threatening injuries as a result.  The males fled prior to police arrival but were located a short time later at an Albert Street East residence. At the time of the arrest, the officers were assaulted by one of the accused males and a female inside the home.  As a result, the following three persons are facing a number of charges:

• Eric Dubeault, age 27, of #17-314 Albert Street East has been charged with one count of threaten to damage property, one count of carrying a concealed weapon, one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose, one count of assault with a weapon, two counts of assault peace officer and one count of obstruct or resist peace officer.  He is to appear in bail court this morning.
• Jeffrey Howard, age 27, of #15-314 Albert Street East has been charged with one count of assault with a weapon, one count of utter to damage property, one count of unauthorized possession of a weapon and one count of possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose.  He is to appear in bail court this morning.
• Taylor Myles, age 18, of #18-314 Albert Street East has been charged with two counts of assault peace officer and one count of obstruct or resist peace officer.  She is to appear in court on the 14_^th of May.
