Three charged in John Street break-in

The three are alleged to have been involved in a Feb. 8 break-in to a business located in the 300 block of John Street

On March 19, 2019 officers with the Break and Enter division of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 39-year-old Margaret Goulet of Second Line West for break and enter.

On March 15, 2019 officers arrested 31-year-old David Rous of McNabb Street for break and enter. On Feb. 20, 2019 officers arrested 49-year-old Jeffrey McDonald of no fixed address for break and enter.

On Feb. 8, 2019 a business in the 300 block of John Street was entered and approximately $9,000 worth of merchandise was taken. It’s alleged Margaret Goulet drove Jeffrey McDonald and David Rous to the area of the business.

It’s further alleged Jeffrey McDonald entered the business while David Rous positioned himself in a nearby location to keep watch over the business while the break and enter was taking place. After the break and enter, Margaret Goulet picked up Jeffrey McDonald, along with the stolen merchandise and returned to David Rous’ apartment.

Margaret Goulet is charged with one count of break and enter, one count of possession of break-in tools and one count of possession of stolen property. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 29, 2019.

David Rous is charged with one count of break and enter, one count of possession of break-in tools, one count of possession of stolen property and one count of breach of probation. He was held for bail court.

Jeffrey McDonald is charged with one count of break and enter, one count of possession of break-in tools and one count of breach of probation. He was held for bail court.
