City Police had a fairly busy twenty-four hour period. They answered two assault calls from the jail. At 10:40 a.m. yesterday, an inmate-on-inmate altercation resulted in assault charges being laid against 18-year-old Adrian Smith.
The second assault call from the jail came in at 11:05 a.m. This incident involved an inmate assaulting a guard. Police are still investigating.
Police also answered one shoplifter call from Zeller's on Northern Avenue.
