City Police attended to the 100 block of Pim St. to investigate a Break and Enter which occurred overnight. Thieves forcibly entered through an office door and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash and liquor.

A garage in the 100 block of Estelle St. was broken into overnight. Entry was gained by cutting a screen and gaining access through a side window. A boys BMX style bike and an IPOD were stolen in this incident.

City Police are seeking the public’s assistance with regards to a motor vehicle collision which took place at the intersection of Black Rd. and McNabb St. involving a silver Toyota Pickup truck and a red Mazda car. This collision happened at approximately 12:30 p.m. today.

Bail Court Appearance Arrests/Charged Persons with Court Appearance Dates:

On the 16 June 2012 Nathan Rosene (age 18) entered the Food Basics on Pine St. An alert store employee confronted Rosene after he observed him attempting to steal meat products from the store. Rosene produced a handgun in response to being confronted and fled the store. Video surveillance produced a photo of Rosene and police officers on duty recognized the accused. Detectives located him in the afternoon and tactical and patrol officers arrested Rosene in the city core. Upon arrest he was found in possession of a small amount of marihuana. He is charged with armed robbery, possession of a weapon dangerous to public, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation X 2. He will be appearing in bail court on Monday morning

A male was arrested by patrol officers regarding a domestic complaint three days previous. The accused was aware patrol officers were looking to arrest him and that a warrant was out for him. He refused to turn himself in and had to be tracked by the officers. He was located and arrested on the 16 June 2012 hiding at an address (not his residence) and will be appearing in bail court on Monday morning. Domestic arrests are not identified to protect the identity of the victims.

On the 16 June 2012, Robert Dumanski (age 49) of 318 Whitney Ave was arrested by patrol officers on an unrelated non criminal matter and was to be released. He was at the city police station when he decided to plug the toilet with the blanket he had been given for comfort. He repeatedly flushed the toilet flooding the cell area. When officers responded to the cell and entered it to remove the blanket he threatened to “put a bullet in their heads”. Hence…Mr. Dumanski is now housed at the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center and will be appearing in bail court on Monday charged with mischief and threatening.
