Six face drug trafficking, weapons charges after Albert St. W. investigation (3 photos)

Police seized over 50 grams of suspected meth and a shot gun during the investigation

Sault Ste. Marie Police have arrested six people in a drug and weapons investigation on Albert Street West.

Police say they executed a search warrant in the 600 block of Albert Street West at 5:36 p.m. on Thursday. 

In a press release issued today, Sault Police say upon entering the residence, they located the six accused inside and they were arrested.

According to police, the following suspected drugs and weapons were found upon a subsequent search of the residence:

  • 3.36 grams of suspected fentanyl
  • 52.9 grams of suspected methamphetamine
  • 5.74 grams of suspected cocaine
  • .22 grams of suspected crack cocaine
  • 52 oxycodone pills
  • A 12 gauge shotgun and ammunition
  • .22 calibre ammunition
  • a flick knife
  • pepper spray
  • starter pistols
  • $240 in Canadian currency.

The estimated street value of the narcotics seized is $7,826.

As a result, Corey Cloutier, 27, Joanne Czapla, 51, Candice Grassi, 30, Patrick Robinson, 33, Mildred White, 49, Ryan Yeates, 39, were arrested and each charged with:

  • Four counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking,
  • Possession of a controlled substance
  • Unauthorized possession of a weapon
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
  • Possession of a firearm knowing its serial number has been tampered with

Cloutier faces the additional charges of knowingly possessing an unauthorized weapon, an additional charge of careless storage of a firearm, and four counts of breach of probation. He was held for bail court.

Czapla faces the additional charges of knowingly possessing an unauthorized firearm, an additional charge of careless storage of a firearm, and four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. She was held for bail court.

Grassi has also been charged with careless use of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition. She was held for bail court.

Robinson faces an additional charge of unauthorized possession of a weapon, four counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose,  and breach of recognizance. He was held for bail court.

White faces an additional charge of  careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition and She was held for bail court.

Yeates has also been charged with three counts of breach of probation. He was held for bail court.

All six of the accused were also issued provincial offence notices for breaching the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act during a lockdown.
