Serious crash closed Pim and Church (Update: charges laid)

Driver facing charges remains in hospital with serious but non life-threatening injuries

Pim Street And Church Street are now open to traffic in both directions. Officers from Traffic Services and Patrol Service have cleared the area. The driver of the vehicle remains in hospital with non life threatening injuries. 

As a result of investigation 24-year-old Brendan Stewart of First Avenue has been charged with one count of Impaired Operation of a motor vehicle. 

The accused will appear in court on Dec. 24.

MVC Pim Street and Church Street Road Closed

At approximately 5:15 a.m. officers with the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Church Street and Wellington Street. 

One person has been transported from the scene with serious injuries and three others were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

At this time Pim Street at Wemyss Street southbound and Church Street at Wellington Street northbound will be completely closed to traffic while the investigation continues.  We ask that motorists use alternate routes and avoid this area until the road can be re-opened.  More information regarding the collision will be released when it becomes available.
