A 25-year-old Sault Ste. Marie man faces impaired driving charges after police saw a vehicle travelling on Albert Street West near Carmen's Way fail to stop for a stop sign.

When officers stopped the vehicle, they smelled cannabis and asked the driver to participate in a Field Sobriety Test, which they say he performed poorly on.

On Friday, officers with Sault Ste. Marie Police Patrol Services arrested 25-year-old Michael Husband for impaired driving.

He later performed poorly during a Drug Recognition Evaluation and was consequently charged with driving while impaired by alcohol and drugs.

Husband is scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 31, 2020.
