Sault Ste. Marie Police arrest 18-year-old on weapons charges

The charges are related to an incident in September involving a machete and an attempted robbery

Sault Ste. Marie Police have charged 18-year-old Zander Brown with several weapons charges related to an incident at a private residence.

On Sept. 11, 2021, Brown allegedly attacked another person at the residence, hitting them with the butt end of a machete before trying to take a watch and chain from the individual.

After an investigation, officers located Brown and arrested him on Oct. 20.

Brown is charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, assault with a weapon and attempt robbery with a weapon.

He was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 13.
