Sault Police seize gun, cannabis during search of Patrick Street residence

A revolver and suspected drugs were seized as a result of a search warrant at a Patrick Street residence, Sault Police say.

Police report executing a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Patrick Street yesterday. According to police, a .38 calibre revolver with a tampered serial number, ammunition, and approximately 220 grams of suspected cannabis hashish were seized.

Two inside the residence were arrested.

Nicole Breton, 46 of Echo Bay, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm with readily accessible ammunition, tampering with serial number on a firearm and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing.

She was held for bail court.

Gary Levar, 52, is charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized, possession of a firearm with readily accessible ammunition, four counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order, tampering with serial number on a firearm and possession of cannabis for the purpose of distributing.

He was held for bail court.
