Sault man turns himself in after stealing tablet, police say

On March 18, 2019 officers with the Break and Enter unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 30-year-old Chad Guerin of Pilgrim Street for theft under $5,000.

It’s alleged on March 1, 2019, the accused attended a business in the 700-block of Second Line East, approached an unattended cash counter to pay for some items, while there (it is alleged that) he reached over the counter grabbed a tablet and put it into his backpack. A clerk came over to help; he paid for some items and left the store.

The accused reported to the Police Station and turned himself in on an outstanding warrant. He is charged with one count of theft under $5,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 29, 2019.
