Sault man charged with theft after wallet stolen from vehicle

He is also accused of attempting to use the victim’s bank card at a convenience store

On April 9, 2018 officers with the Break and Enter Unit of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service arrested 29-year-old Troy Bozowskyi of Albert Street West for mischief and theft.

It is alleged that on April 2, 2018 the accused broke the window of a vehicle that was parked in the 500 block of Wellington Street West and took various items from inside the vehicle, including an iPhone and a wallet with bank cards. The accused then attempted to use the victim’s bank card at a convenience store a short time later.

Officers located the accused on April 9, 2018 and he was taken into custody. At the time, the accused was found to be in possession of folding knife that opened with centrifugal force. He has been charged with:
    •    One count of possession of a prohibited weapon,
    •    One count of mischief,
    •    One count of theft under $5,000,
    •    One count of theft of a credit card, and;
    •    One count of possession of stolen property.

He will appear in court on May 14, 2018.
