Arrests
City police were called to a residence in the 100 block of Cathcart Street regarding a domestic incident.It is alleged that after an argument the accused kicked the victim in the leg causing swelling and bruising. The accused was arrested a short time later for assault. It was found that the accused was on bail conditions to keep the peace and be of good behaviour, notify change of address and not to consume alcohol. Further charges of breach of a recognizance X 3 were laid. The accused will appear in WASH court (Weekend and Statutory Holiday Video Court) on Saturday 20th day of October.
City police were called to a residence in the 100 block of James Street regarding a domestic incident. A verbal argument led to the accused grabbing the victim by the wrist and pulling the victim down 4 or 5 stairs. As a result a 49 year old male was arrested for assault. The accused will appear in WASH court (Weekend and Statutory Holiday Video Court) on Saturday 20th day of October.
On October 20, 2012 at approximately 1:53 am City Police observed a 2006 Pontiac driving the wrong way on a one-way street. Further investigation revealed the accused had consumed alcohol and given a road side test which he failed. The accused was arrested for consuming over the legal limit. The accused was transported to the police station for a breathalyzer test. Troy Rizzo, age 44 of 17 Hearst Street will appear in court on the 19th day of November 2012 at 9:00 am.
On October 19, 2012 police were called to the Sault and Area Hospital regarding an assault complaint. It was found that the victim was assaulted by the accused by grabbing the victim’s wrist and twisting it causing swelling. The accused age 57 was charged with assault and will appear in court on the 3rd day of December 2012 at 9 a.m.
Break and Enters
Officers were called to a break and enter to a residence in the 90 block of Grandriver Crescent.Entry was gained through a basement window. Jewelry, electronic equipment and silverware were taken.
Officers were called to a break and enter to a residence in the 200 block of Spruce Street. It appears entry was gained to the residence but nothing reported stolen. The culprit may have been scared off by the homeowner. The resident observed a male leaving the area on a bicycle.
