On the 8Dec12 at approximately 0525 hours a robbery was reported on Boston Avenue. Information provided at that time was that a Yellow Cab driver had been robbed by his customers on Boston Avenue.

Two males were involved where one male may have gone up to the door of an apartment on Boston Avenue to get money for the fare and the second male robbed the cab at knifepoint. It was believed that both males left the area towards Ferguson Avenue.   Both male suspects are described as First Nations, one had a coat with the hood over his head and the second male was wearing a black hoodie and ball cap.  One male had a knife and an undisclosed amount of cash was taken.

On 08 December 2012 at 11:00 a.m. officers attended a domestic disturbance in the city’s north end.  It is alleged that during an argument the 25 year old husband of the victim grabbed his wife by the neck and threw her.  In addition it is alleged he punched holes in the wall.  He has been charged with assault and mischief and will appear in WASH court tomorrow morning.

The Sault Ste. Marie Police Traffic Services division is currently investigating a serious motor vehicle - pedestrian collision at Albert Street East at Bruce Street..  At approximately 14:48 hours officers responded to a pedestrian who was struck by a City Transit bus at that intersection. A 24 year old female was transported to the hospital unconscious with unknown head trauma.  The injuries have been updated from critical to stable at this time.  The investigation is continuing.

A vehicle was spray painted overnight in the 500 block of Wallace Terrace.

The rear of a house in the 300 block of Sussex Street was also spray painted overnight.

A basement window was broken in the 300 block of Dacey Road at 11:00 a.m. and footprints were seen leading away from what is likely an attempt break and enter.

A vehicle was damaged and entered on Goetz Street overnight.  Taken was jewelry, a car seat, work boots and other personal items.

An unlocked vehicle was entered on Florwin Drive and a wallet containing identification was stolen.

An unlocked vehicle was entered in the 100 block of Shannon Road and a purse was taken.

On 07 Dec 12 Sault Ste. Marie police officers arrested a 29 year old Michael DEBELLO of 35 Grace St. He is charged with assault, breach and mischief. It is alleged that on the 7th of December 2012 the accused Michael Debello was at 35 Grace Street with the adult female victim who is known to him.  The accused choked the victim around the neck from behind and plugged the victim's nose.  Debello is also on a recognizance not to molest, harass, or physically interfere with the victim, which he did not comply with.

Also on the 7th of December 2012 at 17:35 hours Michael Debello threatened to kill the Staff Sergeant and two officers as well as his neighbour while at the Police Station.  On the 7th of December 2012 at approximately 17:40 hours Debello committed the offense of mischief by breaking the ceiling light in the cells, as well as causing damage by flooding the cells. He will appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court this morning.

A 16 year old female is in custody awaiting appearance in bail court after she attended the Police Station to turn herself in. There were two warrants for her arrest. She will appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court this morning charged with several counts of breach and failing to appear.

21 year old Zachary BISAILLON is in custody on several charges after police were called to a motel on Pim Street for a disturbance.  It is alleged that On the 08Dec12, the accused, Zachery Bisaillon was at large on a recognizance while he was bound to comply with a condition of that recognizance to be in his residence daily, except in the present of his surety, and to reside with his surety. Accused was located in motel room without his surety and did also indicate he had no address.  In addition he is to notify police of any change in his address within 24 hours of that change, and failed to do so.  He will appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court this morning.

A 45 year old female is in custody charged with breach of probation from a domestic incident where it is alleged that Police were investigating a disturbance, possibly between the accused and her ex- partner.  While attempting to give the accused a ride to her residence, the accused began yelling and swearing at the victim.  She is on probation not to communicate with that person which led to her arrest for breach of probation. She will appear in WASH (Weekend and Statutory Holiday) court this morning.

A 38 year old male is in custody facing charges of kidnapping, forcible confinement, assault, mischief, and uttering threats to cause death after officers responded to a domestic violence call early this morning that occurred at a residence in the city’s east end and continued into a rural area in the Garden River First Nation.  The investigation is continuing.
