Sault Ste. Marie Police made an arrest after a person with an axe was reported on the 300 block of East Balfour.
Police arrived in the area around 9 a.m. on Sept. 21 and found a person matching the description in the report.
That individual was allegedly found to be carrying an axe and a knife in a backpack.
Police charged 29-year-old Jeffrey Humphries with:
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a weapon knowing its possession is prohibited
- Possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order
- Failure to comply with probation order – keep the peace and be of good behaviour
- Breach of recognizance
He was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
