On February 18, 2024, detectives with the Drug Enforcement Unit and Crime Suppression Unit, with assistance from the Emergency Services Unit, charged eight individuals with several firearm offences.
Around 4:20 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Wellington Street East in connection with a firearms investigation. The search located 116 rounds of ammunition, a long gun, three different rifles, a sawed-off shotgun, and a double barrel shotgun. All items were seized. Eight individuals were located inside the residence and arrested without incident.
30-year-old Desni Syrette is charged with:
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x5
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition x7
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x6
This accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing and remanded.
33-year-old Kyle Thibodeau is charged with:
- Possession of Prohibited Device or Ammunition
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm x5
- Careless Use of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device, or Ammunition x7
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm x6
- Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order x7

29-year-old Taylor Marshall is charged with:
